I have used this provider for less than 6 months

I face the unfortunate situation of sending my child off to his father's home (2000 miles away) for the summers. The first summer, a different daycare took care of him, and kept me reasonably in the loop. My child's second summer away (2015) was spent at this daycare. Our court order expresses first and foremost my primary placement and our shared joint custody. However, this meant absolutely nothing to this business owner. After a very pleasant initial conversation via telephone, she informed me that she was experienced and used to dealing with distant parents in this situation. She assured me that I would be able to call, Skype and check on my child whenever I wanted, and as often as I wanted. I told her it wouldn't be often, maybe once or twice a week, for a few minutes to say hello. She assured me this was no problem (I then spoke with my son for less than 2 minutes and we schedule our first call to be at the end of the week. She said she'd mail brochures that day. This was the last I heard from her.

I called at our agreed time, and she told me I was not allowed to speak to my son. I asked why and she made up a story about my court order not allowing any communication. She then hung up on me, because she had paying customers in front of her, saying she'd call me back later in the day. I waited two weeks before I tried again. She again hung up on me, refusing to schedule a time to speak with me. I waited another week. When I called, same answer. I called back the next day, again hanging up on me. Finally, she wrote a letter to the courts stating that I was harassing her and requesting that I not be allowed to ever even visit my son. To date, I only received an email stating she had attached brochures, only to have nothing attached.

I am appalled that a business owner can run a daycare and refuse access to the primary custodian. It makes no sense that the primary custodian to NEVER be allowed to speak with even ask about his or her child at a daycare. Please, be cautious with who you leave your child with. Unacceptable behavior on behalf of Kid's Clubhouse.

When my son finally returned home after 2 months, I discovered 3 sets of human child bite marks (on his chest, back and leg), and countless bug bites, spider bites and bed bug bites that he ended up having to get antibiotics for. When I asked my son, he told me that he was bitten at school and the teacher's didn't think it was serious enough to call home. Really? 2 months after I could see the scars. And now, an entire year and 3 months later, the worst of the scars is still there. This place is a joke. It's simply unfortunate that I live too far away to tell them to their faces just how terrible they are.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

My son was there for a couple of months when I started a new job i onformed them it was his 1st time in daycare (18 months old) within a couple of weeks he started getting sick I thought it was the "getting adjusted part" withing a week the daycare would call me 2 to 3 times a week to pick him up due to diarrhea. he was taken to the doctor and cleared to return to school. nothing going contagious just very sensible to foods and made them aware of special diet (no milk and no veggies for him) I pick him up after work on Friday and they had his things ready and that he was not allowed to come back that they couldn't care for him anymore I asked what happened he was doing better they said that he continued with diarrhea I asked them what they gave him to eat and they said "We stayed within the diet" I get home very upset about the whole situation. I went to change my son's diaper to find corn kennels in his diaper. No wonder he started getting sick again What part of NO VEGGIES you didn't get??? Watch out for this place. Obviously they don't have the time or staff to watch for the kids properly

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

My son was enrolled with Kids Clubhouse. He adjusted to his daily activities and has made many friends at Kid’s Clubhouse. Seven months later, I received a text from the Director, Cindy asking me to call her. She explained to me that my son was not listening to his teacher and was knocking down toys. I asked if this was a normal behavior for him and she confirmed that it was not. She explained to me that she believed that this “bad behavior” was a direct result of my son receiving speech therapy services. He had just began receiving services for mild speech and language delays. She suggested that I put him in a Head Start program; which she assumed that my family could qualify. She also suggested that I put him into another preschool. She disclosed that she had the same discussion with the parents of three other children in the three-year-old class; all of them having one detail in common – developmental delays.

I understand that Kid’s Clubhouse is a privately owned daycare and has the ability to dismiss any student that they want. However, I do not believe my son was asked to leave based of his misbehavior but rather based on the fact that this facility does not have the resources or desire to provide him with the highest quality in the level of care and supervision in which they advertise. It is my opinion that this is not acceptable for a facility that is characterized as a “Gold Seal Quality Care” provider.
