Horrible place. Staff is always turning over and there is no consistency. Forget about your child learning a thing here. Just a money grab. Owner is like a slumlord, but for daycares. Beware and avoid at all costs if you have any other option. We did not as we relocated to the area and this was the only place with an opening. Now we got in somewhere else and are gone.
I agree with the former employee! There is ZERO structure at this daycare. There are some workers that I have met that do genuinely care about the children. I make it a point at every pick up to ask how each of my children’s days have gone. I have reported the daycare to DCFS for teachers not being present in the morning until after 7am.. children are expected to be dropped off in large group in an open lobby. Children of all ages. They can’t keep their staff, age groups are constantly being combined. Today 3. Classes were combined and I could tell the workers were completely exhausted by this. The owner took her anger out on me because of my child acting out today, she diagnosed him with ADHD claimed she has a degree in psychology and knew what she was talking about (but never practiced as a behavioral counselor, doesn’t mean you’re a doctor) , couldn’t help but raise her voice and she is only there MAYBE once a month if that.. she manages the Decatur location primarily. I told her I am walking away as I felt uncomfortable because she was fuming mad, couldn’t get her emotions under control. As I walked away she yelled “ YOU don’t want to accept the truth about your son, that’s why you’re walking away ” she did this in the hallway yelling in front of my child, other children, and other parents..
I take mental health awareness very seriously, and I would absolutely addressed any poor behavior on his behalf. With that being said, even if it is the case with my son she handled it very inappropriately. This is not a person who understands customer service, or appropriate behavior. Another negative experience I had was when a worker applied one of her personal creams (lotion) to my daughters skin that left her entire body in hives and we ended up in prompt care. When I expressed my concern to the daycare owner she said “well what did you want me to do, call you?” I responded with yes absolutely. It was incredibly rude and unnecessary and she did not in any way shape or form apologize for the incident.
I understand sometimes mistakes are made.. but I would never chose this daycare by choice & we’re leaving ASAP!
Do I have do give it 1 star? I am a former employee. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The management is terrible and they don't offer benefits... Wait if you call 10 days of sick and vacation combined benefits....
New owners took over they company over a year ago and dropped, yes dropped the health insurance! They've been "working" on getting it for over a year now. Still nothing!
Oh yeah, they're always short staffed ( DCFS violation) and provide a hostile environment .
I could go on and on but I'll save my breath.
