Effective June 1, 2023 KCDC will have a fully qualified Director. Until then our current Co-Director has taken over daily responsibilities with assistance from an Administrator and a Curriculum Director. The school posted a temporary Director position when the co-director left our program, to which we have received no viable applicants.

On 11/23/22, school age children were observed being sent into the building from the playground unsupervised. At the time of this inspection, consultant spoke to the caregiver (DM) present on 11/23/22 and she confirmed children were not in direct supervision.
Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more information.)
Grade school children ages 7 &10 were instructed to go from the fenced playground to a specific teacher to request playground balls and a towel for use on the playground. Using the south door of the playground, the teacher spotted the teacher indoors and directed each child to the teacher. The children passed from outside into a door and a hallway that is visible to indoor teachers given their location in the Center. The reason the customary East door of the playground was not used was due to the presence of a Paths To Quality Rater so as not to disrupt the rating visit.
