I have used this provider for less than 6 months

If you value your children's safety DO NOT send them here. I had two children enrolled at Kiddie academy in Stafford, a three year old and an infant. I should have known there was something wrong when my 3 year old would cry every single day my husband or I dropped her off. Do not be fooled by the camera system. We were told by the director when we first started that if there was ever a problem, we could review the footage. My infant was left of the floor for most of the day, to the point where she would fall asleep. She was also left sleeping in a boppy and when I checked in on her, there was another baby asleep FACE DOWN in another boppy. There are no structured activities/curriculum like we were promised either. One day I decided to pick up my children early and I had been watching on the camera and did not see my infant fed. I put labels on my bottles (that ink bleeds when in the steamer) and one of my bottles the ink wasn't bleed. When I brought this to the directors attention to review the footage, they threatened to cancel my contract. The excuse I received from the owner was "there must not have been water in the streamer". Any parent knows bottle steamers don't work without water. The owner refused to show me the live feed and instead showed me screen shots (no date or time stamp). I could not see what my child was wearing to confirm the feeding was on the actual day/time in question, and I still believe they dumped out my break milk because my child was very hungry as soon as we got back home and when I fed her she nursed for a good 10 minutes. Next, we are a military family and they stole $554 dollars from us. After canceling our contract they signed paperwork to terminate our contract through Child Care Aware. Kiddie Academy then charge us for an additional week AFTER the day our care was terminated. They are stating that we needed to give them two weeks notice when they are the ones who canceled our contract. No where in the contract does it say that if they cancel then 2 weeks notice is required. In addition, the owner is the one that filled out the paperwork with a termination date of March 7th. If she intended to charge us for an additional week, than she should not have put that as a termination date. Instead she charged us for an additional week at the full price without our subsidy. Then she said she offered us an additional two weeks to "find care". Absolutely not. First, I am not obligated to have my children in their care for an additional two weeks. We already didn't trust them and had safety issues that were not resolved. I am most certainly not going to let my children be entrusted in their care for another two weeks while they are terminating our contract. God knows what could have happened that they would have tried to cover up. We declined the two weeks and the owner agreed to the termination date and put it on our paperwork. Then she lied and charged us anyway. Everything you see in their school curriculum is a joke. My 3 year old on very rare occasions brought something home. 90% of the time I checked in on her the kids were just in a free for all in the classroom. My three old told me at least 2-3 per week that her teachers yelled at the class and they were mean. I watched another kid come over and take toys away from my three year old, while the teachers just sat there not paying attention. There is no audio, but I know what my child looks like when she cries. She was curled up in the corner crying until another little girl went and got the teacher and brought her over. Lastly, the center also has a recent investigation for a teacher shoving a 2 year old (you can google it) There is really a laundry list of other things too. Parents are not allowed in the building so you have no idea who is taking care of your children. We were never told that the teacher in our 3 year old's room quit. Another parent ran into the teacher recently and she said she left because of all the things happening "behind the scenes". I would check in on the cameras and they wouldn't have enough teachers in the room. On valentines day I checked in, there were over 20 kids in the class. Stafford school was closed and they allowed school age children in the 3 year old class and did not tell us! You know that gut feeling you have as a parent when you know something isn't right? Well that's the feeling I had every single moment while my kids were there. I know I am spot on with this because my girls have been attending another daycare for the last couple weeks and its night and day. My 3 year old is excited to go to school. She doesn't cry when she gets dropped off and in fact on several occasions she doesn't want to leave. My infant is so happy when I pick her up and she is actually doing sensory activities and sign language, not just left on the floor to roll around and sleep. I would warn every parent and especially military families....do not send your children here.
