My two sons, now ages 30 and 32, attended Jack and Jill school in the two, three-year- old classroom and the kindergarten classroom for one school year. I formerly taught a morning Kindergarten classroom and after school art enrichment prior to marriage and having children. As a traveling artist and art teacher, I frequented many (50+) child care centers through much of central Virginia, to offer my services. I always felt most “at home” at Jack and Jill School. I also supervised the after-schoolers for one school year five years ago, and substitute taught various classes, the KG classroom especially, for two years on an on-call basis. Never, have I felt any differently about the level of quality care of the children or the reliability of staff at J&J. In addition to motivated and dedicated teachers, J&J offers specialty programs in art, music, drama and sports, a large playground, a swimming pool and tennis courts, all with close supervision, healthy teacher/student ratio, quality education, basic TLC and healthy guidance overall. This has been a high standard given to these children for certainly the past 35 years I have known them! I am confident the Founder, Louise Gardner, is well pleased this standard of excellence she initiated over 60 years ago has been steadily maintained! Jack and Jill School is family owned and all involved are like one big happy family! I highly recommend this “hidden treasure” to any family who values proven excellence in child care, parental involvement and open communications, safety and security, a heightened self esteem and healthy growth and development for their children in all areas to include social skills, respect for authority, and general learning. Let your child’s light shine at Jack and Jill School, and yours too, .. as relieved and grateful parents !
