Our children recently attended Wee Hope, the preschool run through Hopedale. The teachers are AMAZING, however, a change in management has prompted this warning. Recently, our son was grabbed, yanked, and verbally berated in anger by a child’s parent. The director of Wee Hope instructed employees to hide this from us. Once we found out, I called the pastor of Hopedale to request a meeting and discuss how this would be handled and prevented in the future and to express my concern that it was hidden from me. The pastor referred me to the church’s attorney/board member. The attorney called and was rude and explained they would not take a meeting with me. After multiple failed attempts to meet with church leaders, I called DHS. The investigator substantiated the claim and filed a complaint against them. The attorney called and told me I was “shameful” for calling it in. Parents beware and do your research. As a Christian, this was a heartbreaking experience for our entire family. The amount of kids that is there, there should be more adult supervision.
