I am utterly disappointed in GULC. In terms of safety, it is safe. However, for a church learning center, you’d expect the children to get exposed to the word of God. It seems the employees themselves are not even practicing Christians. How can you advertise a school as one that prioritizes the word of God but employ unbelievers? How and what are they going to teach the children? The other concerning issue is that there is a screen in the office that covers several classrooms but there is no one paying close attention to what is transpiring in these classrooms. Certain conversations that teachers have in the classroom, it proves that there is no audio in these rooms. If you’re looking for a school where your children can learn the word of God, this isn’t it-sad to say. There is also the aspect of a lack of childcare training. The manner in which some of these teachers speak to the children shows that for them it’s just a job. They do not have love for the children or for the job and that is extremely concerning.(I haven’t experienced it with mine but I’ve seen several situations where children are yelled at or spoken to in ways they shouldn’t have been spoken to). The school has potential but the owners need to get serious about monitoring what goes on in these classrooms, employing people who know and can teach the word of God alone with the secular curriculum. The school also needs improvement in appearance. Especially the restroom and the cafeteria. The church CAN do better and it seems that management does not take kindly to suggestions and honest opinions. The more parents I converse with, the more it becomes apparent that these concerns are common. People are choosing not to speak for fear that their children will be ill treated and that’s Sad-especially for a Christian learning center. Sadly, this place will either be slapped with a lawsuit or the state WILL close it down. It’s a shame that a Christian school is accepting of parents lieing to receive government support. A shame/ no wonder the world does not see any difference in us.
Honestly, I've heard so many good things about this school in the past. As of now, December 2016, this school has fell apart. There is no curriculum whatsoever for the two year old class. My child has not learned a thing. My child sees so many faces, he has no clue who his teacher is. The workers in this center bring their big children/teens to work with them and 9 times out of 10, their children are assisting them in taking care of the students because they're too many kids and not enough teachers. School lunch has made my child ill. There are no incident reports issued when incidents or accidents occur. Outside play is entirely way too long. Kids sit outside daily from 3 pm to pick up (6:00). The list goes on and on and on. If you need quality care and education for your child please look the other way.
