My son attends Goshen Learning Center pre k program and we have had such a WONDERFUL experience! The staff and especially the director Shannon have always been amazing. I am a critical care ICU nurse and have been for 10 years and would not leave my son with just anyone daycare or center. He has seizures and Shannon has been hypervigiliant in caring for my son. I have read the previous reviews, and feel they are unwarranted. I come at random times and days to visit, and have never found my child or seen any child mistreated. It's unfortunate slandrr and libel can be posted anywhere without accurate validation. I myself know and work close with a great deal of parents of children attending Goshen and we love it there. My child has blossomed and loves his teachers and Ms Shannon! The state has always ranked this center for quality and I believe from my personal experience they deserve it! As a mom and a nurse, I always worry about my son but I feel comfortable and fortunate to have him at Goshen with care and concern. Do your homework/research and see how great this center and staff is and why there is a waiting list always! I am grateful they gave my Kaden such a wonderful foundation of confidence and love while he is at school. Please take in consideration as a parent that not all negative reviews are justified/ justified/ appropriate. I have been trained in my profession to pick up on signs of abuse/neglect and I have NEVER seen anything of that nature at Goshen . We have a home at Goshen and are blessed to attend such a center!!
Sounds like two women that didn't get their way & I know for a FACT these are LIES. This site better be careful letting people SLANDER another person based on WORDS. Parents were in the center when you came in and yelled & CUSSED in front of the children so get the story correct before you comment---such ignorance and immaturity.
So, I got a call last Monday from Shannon for me to pick up my 3year old son, because he's "acting out", so I had my Mother in law pick him up, since I work. He stayed with her Tuesday as well, went back to GLC on Wednesday, I received another phone call..this time from Michelle saying he needs to be picked up right now because he got a teacher. Which I don't believe. I'm fed up, my MIL is too..so we let him stay there. When I picked him up..Shannon said, "I don't know if my boss will let him come back", she said..."I will let you know" she never called.I called her Thursday, and Friday..and sent texts. She never got back with me. So, I assume he can come back.I drop him off before work today 3/14/16 and was told by Cynthia (teacher) "Oh, he can't be here".. I said "Well, no one told me..so here's staying." Cynthis then said "Miss Michelle, you're gonna have to handle this" Michelle is a nutritionist. Michelle backed Cynthia up, and said my child is not welcome there. Cynthia said Shannon texted her this morning and told her my son cannot attend. I (his mother) got no notification. I left my son there, told them to do their job, I had to go to mine..and I left.
My son attended Goshen learning center for pre-k only. I wish as a mother I would have gone with my gut instinct on a few things here, but the biggest one would be the director (Shannon) putting her hands on my son. He was playing outside one day and she claims from the window she saw him pointing a piece of mulch at another boy pretending it was a gun. One, boys will be boys and when they are into super hero's and things that behavior will come out. My son was never and isn't a problem child. She would tell me everyday when I picked him up how sweet he was and go on and on about him. Any who she ran outside and grabbed my son by his arm dragging him inside for punishment with him losing a shoe in the process and him trying to tell her he'd lost it and she still proceeded to pull him. He has just finished kindergarten and I am just now hearing from him the extent of this. He is a very shy boy and gets embarrassed easily so he didn't tell me in such detail then about exactly how she went about punishing him. Here it is 1:35 am and I can't sleep from thinking about this woman putting her hands on my son! I find it funny how there are no other reviews posted besides four years ago and it's a good review. There is also another lady there Kim, who I've seen myself snatching kids up by their arms and talking to them as if they were hers, but I asked my sons teacher at the time if she knew their parent assuming she had to and when I got a yes I left that alone. There are other issues there as well such as the crappy lunch they would serve making you pay $10 a week for. They would have the same thing days in a row and the portions were for a bird. I called Shannon with my concern on this when my son told me he only got 2 chicken nuggets and was still hungry. She told me they can always ask for more and would get it so I urged my son to do this. But even after that he told me he would and they would tell him there isn't anymore. The teachers he had any the time hated it there too that should have been enough of a red flag for me there. I tried getting him into another school mid way through the year but everything was full. I am disgusted with this place and the women they have working there. And to think people pay money to have their kids there for daycare. Lord knows I will regret for probably the rest of my life not pulling my son out of there when my heart told me something was wrong. I urge parents to take this review into consideration when considering placing their child in this facility. And don't think they teach them anymore than another school would because that's not true.
