Description: We chose Waldorf education for our own children because we feel it is the most holistic form of education by cultivating the mind body and spirit. My oldest daughter has attended waldorf schools for the past 5 years and my wife is a waldorf teacher at Sparrow Last year I searched for a waldorf preschool/daycare for my son, and I realized there were none in East San diego. So instead of accepting this fate, I chose to start my own Waldorf preschool in our beautiful home. Waldorf is media and screen free allowing children to strengthen their imaginations. Wooden toys and fabrics appeal to the child's sensory development. Our children are balanced and inspired by by exploring the natural world. Flowers, plants, trees, dirt and creatures big and small are an organic educational tool about the world around them. Interpersonal skills are encouraged through building play houses and forts. They will tap into their imaginations to design and build either as individuals or learn to work together so that their vision is created. Every day has the same rhythm which allows your child to settle in to the routines and allow their minds to focus on creative play which nourishes their little souls. We will sing, dance, tell stories, prepare snack, garden, rest, indoor play and garden (outdoor) play. Children thrive in a rhythmic environment and they will thrive at Garden Canyon. At garden canyon your child will create, investigate and explore.
