My daughter was there for 5 days and I was told the teacher was having problems with her because she was peeling stickers of the floor. She then proceeded to tell me she had never had this issue last year. As a parent, you do not like for your child to be compared to others. As an educator, I know that all children are different. I was approached in front of other parents as well which I felt was un professional. My daughter explained that she was being told by the teachers not to peel the stickers and she started feeling hot and she felt tears coming out of her eyes so she said she just started at them. I know that look could’ve came off as “defiant” but any child that’s is being reprimanded by two teachers in front of their classmates will be embarrassed. She said she didn’t blink because she didn’t want the tears to come down. All in all I wish as a parent and educator the approach to the situation would’ve been different. My child enjoyed the routine which I’m surprised she was labeled as a “problem” 5 days in to her first day of school. All students especially pre kindergarten students need repetition of rules and procedure in Order to feel comfortable in a school setting. When the teacher did not like that I responded back to her she walked away from me. No conflict resolution at un- professional. I paid $300 in enrollment fees so that the teacher can’t handle a 4 year old in less than a week.
