Run Away!! Jan 08, 2023
I have used this provider for more than 6 months

pros: I love the staff ( Shannon, Cara, Megan, Nick, Emma ect ( im terrible at remembering names) you all took such great care of my kiddo. I could tell they were annoyed at the amount of parents that didnt care about the rules. The location is great could have better parking or designated parking for parents as alot of people take the parking to go to the mexican restaurant. The hours are great. cons: Washington state law requires that children cannot be in daycare longer than 10 hours, and if they are to be in daycare longer, then there is a form that needs to be filled out. I asked to fill out the form because my work hours are 6:30am to 3:30pm and with commute and traffic i hit the 10hrs daily. they state there will be a $1.00 a minute charge after 10 hrs, and now i believe its $10.00 a minute. If you read the state law its states that commute is the reason for a child to be able to be in care for longer than 10 hrs. i asked for the form and they said they said they are not using the form and that children must be picked up within 10 hrs. i explained it was due to commute, offered to wright down my hrs. luckily they waived the fee for me because i literally left work early every day ( thats is a hit on my paycheck) and i would get my kiddo literally 10hrs on the dot or 10 hrs and five minutes. THIS SHOULDNT BE A CON, BUT IT IS BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY DAYCARE I COULD FIND THAT REFUSED TO USE THE FORM BECAUSE OTHER PARENTS ABUSED IT. This greatly effects those that work long hours such as healthcare works. Call other daycare facilities and ask them about the 10 hrs and commute. The majority of the clients that go to this daycare do not follow the rules when it comes to keeping a sick child at home. Many will give them tylenol, drop them off and then boom an hour or two later the kid shows the signs of a high fever 101 or above. This is a huge problem for the kids that are not currently sick, because they have been exposed which typically causes the entire classroom to get the illness. This might not seem like a big deal but when you are having to constantly miss work or leave work because once again your child has a fever it starts to add up, especially if your not getting help from the state. i was paying the full tuition even when they shut down for multiple days because of the snow and ice, i wasnt given a credit. they opened a couple days and said if you must go to work we have limited space and to please call. mind you i pay full time for the entire month, but i found back up daycare so that another person could drop their kid off, because not everyone can find a sitter last minute. They had a very hard time getting parents to cooperate when they had to wear masks. i personally went and bought at leats 20 masks for the daycare for children because i was so sick of seeing none of them or maybe 1 or 2 besides my kiddo had one on. The scheduled closure days i personally find confusing and they only give a few days prior notice as their reminder. the hand book i believe says they are to give a months notice. Tuition increases they didnt give a months notice but dont worry they made it clear in their general message/statement that state paying families their cost/copay would not be affected. I was called to come get my kiddo as they got a 101.5 temp on her, she was perfectly fine at home in the morning as i check her temp daily ( im a healthcare worker) when i rushed from work, walked in, expecting to see her in the office, she wasnt there. they wanted to offer her lunch so they let her sit with the other children. i brought my thermometer from work and checked her and i couldnt get a reading higher that 99 and thats with her coat on. i was told i could go back to work but would need to come back if it spikes again. I literally rushed out of work and had my patients moved. i was livid this effects my work, my patients, and my income. i took her home and yes she was tired, but she is a kid, kids get tired. i had her grandma come get her for the next couple days to make sure and boom she didnt get a high fever once.During the snow storm here i kept her away from the daycare and she was a happy smiling kiddo, the following week was my christmas break, i pay tutition per month ( not per amount of days a child attends if they are dshs) i had her go a couple days because lets face it i was paying and i needed to get some stuff done. she was perfectly fine, attended 1 day and a few days later had a cold again. the amount of colds there is not normal. ive called many daycares and they have been amazing, they have strict illness policies, and make sure the kids are washing their hands often. The handbook states if a child has a consistent cough they will need to wear a well fitting mask i can tell you 100% that is not enforced. I even told the teachers she has a cough here and there and she has masks if you need her to wear one please do. My kiddo informed me of a child who constantly hits and pushes other kids, i know a staff member there is related to that child but lets face it a child that is doing that puts many other children at risk and i dont care if they have state income which helps the owner, enough is enough. When you see many children with snot running down their faces and they look dirty this is a red flag. they have the kids put their stuff on the ground outside when they are done being inside. this may not seem like a big deal but you will see the dirt, how things look as if they are just thrown around. ITS OBVIOUS TO ME BASED ON THE CONDITION OF THE BUILDING INSIDE, THE LACK OF STATED RULES NOT BEING ENFORCE, AND THE INABILITY OF THE PARENTS TO FOLLOW THE RULES, THAT THIS DAYCARE DOESNT CARE ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF THE CHILDREN.IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY AND THEY DONT CARE HOW THEY GET IT.To the staff members that tried and get parents pissed off at them i give you guys 5 stars because its not easy. I hope these staff members know they will truly be missed. Maybe the owner will actually do something to help her staff and to help the child have a safe, fun and healthy environment.
