Would not recommend. Some teachers were good with kids, others were not. They scream at the kids and punish the whole class for 1 misbehaved child.
This learning center is the best i have ever used and i would use this center for the rest of my childs process of growing up. The food is fresh and everything your kid needs to be prepared for kindergarten. I love this place the owner is the kindest and the most resonable owner in world. The assainant is the most loveable person in the world and use this learning center.
This place is horrible! April spends all her time yelling at the staff and children, doesn't follow state ratio laws, and has had DHHS and CPS called multiple times. I have no idea why the state has not shut down this horrible center. I pulled my child from the center within 2 months after my 4-year-old was terrified to go everyday. A 4-year-old saying "Miss April yells at us and makes my teacher cry" is not something to take lightly. Worst daycare owner I have ever met. So sad that Holy Ghost sold this center and all the amazing staff from there were let go, including the old director. Was one of the best centers around before April got a hold of it.
I have used this provider for 3 years now. April is always willing to work with me on tuition payment plans and the Teachers are always very friendly. As everyone knows, there are always 2 sides to every story/review. It's impossible to make everyone happy. I have built a positive parent/director relationship with April. When I asked about some of the negative reviews, she always had a respectful answer about how she would respond if the parent would have brought their concerns to her. A lot of these reviews are, in fact, written by past employees who were let go because of failure to follow the code of conduct placed in the handbooks. A couple were from parents mad because the center wouldn't allow their child to be present while extremely sick (the crying baby review!) These reviews are ridiculous. April is a great person & has helped MANY families, including me and my 4 children!!
I have used this provider for 7 months and was often worried about leaving my 2 year old after I saw how the teenage girls treat and speak to the children.. my school age son refused to go back after he told me how "mean" the teachers are and how much they yell at the toddlers and babies and physically grab them aggressively. When he didn't want to clean one of the teachers tried to force him and from that day on he never returned. My 2 year old often had bruises when coming back there is about 2 teachers to 20 toddlers. I fear for all children who cannot speak and tell how they are mistreated there. They "teachers" do the learning center activities thru their phone.. if you dont pay attention April will take money without telling and act like she didn't know.. I would not recommend this for any child
I used this daycare from the time my daughter was 6 weeks to 6 months never had any issues with the infant teachers at all. April on the other hand was very unprofessional and rude. Took money out of my account many times without warning. Never had a paper or any note saying I owed anything when confronted she said "it would be a full time job communicating with parents about things like that" Mind you she took the money out in February and said the amount was from nov!!! We ended up moving and not needing a provider until today when I started a new job. I took the kids back because they were familiar with the daycare and thought it would be easier on them ..it's none of the same teachers. They called me 2 hours after dropping my daughter off saying shes crying too much I need to come get her. She is 10 months!!! I went in and talked to her teacher and she was rude and told me my daughter disrupted her whole class and she has 5 other kids in her class so she couldn't deal with it. Isn't that your job?? I tried talking to april and she said the same thing "it's just really frustrating having a child that cries like that" it was her 1st day back. If they are already that frustrated with one infant God forbid what else they're frustrated with. Do not trust any of the staff or april. I am just happy I went with my gut and pulled my children. Would not want them with staff who can not handle their job! And after reading all these I am beyond happy.
Horrible. Really, really bad place. Believe all the bad reviews-this would be a zero star facility if possible. It is sad that this place is still in business with all the DHHS reports made against this center. It's not "disgruntled employees", it's the truth from parents & prior staff alike. If you go to their webpage there's a 5 star review from a "Jolene" well awful funny that there's a Jolene that works there. Lol
People please. We started going here BECAUSE of April. My kid loves this place, and we have had such a great time here, we recommended it to his friend's mom and now her kid is happy here. Every other place either was hyper-religious about NO electronics at all, was WAY too loud, smelled like dead turtles, ignored the kids, became unprofitable due to deadbeat parents, or just had a bad feeling about it. Go on facebook and waste time hating Trump or something instead of crapping on a good, well-run business.
Really people? Have you not looked at the reviews?! There are plenty of title 20 daycares around, don’t settle for a crumby one like this. State comes here way too much and obviously doesn’t see the things that really happen here, SO many state violations here. Blankets in cribs? Staff using the children’s bathroom? Unacceptable.
this daycare does not deserve a star. Let me list everything wrong about this place.
1. April Kane is the most Meanest owner out there.
2. the food here is always undercooked.
3. they say they are a learning center, but i see no learning going on.
4. Staff will get so mad at a child for peeing their pants and start to yell at them.
5. i see kids sitting in timeout for almost a half hour
6. the inside is so nasty looking and doesnt get taken care of.
7. state is always running in and out of there

I'm very confused how this facility is still running. The turn over rate is SO high that I don't ever remember the employees names. I've seen a teacher with 14 kids when the ratio is 6-1. My kids have come home crying saying they don't want to come back but I don't know what to do. April gossips about other kids and is VERY unprofessional. A staff member told me that state has come twice since May so I don't know why it's still open. DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!
April the director is just outright horrible and the staff is very unqualified. Most of the staff hasn't ever held a child care position before and don't know how to engage with children. One staff member constantly smells like cigarettes, and another staff memeber pulled a child's hair and through a piece of chalk at her and called her stupid. All of these allegations were met with "well that teacher shouldn't even be around your child" and when confronting the teacher she rolled her eyes. When going in to pick up my child the staff has no problem telling you all of the gossip about other children and their parents like it's any of my business. A child was actually thrown out of this center because of a disagreement between a parent and a NEW employee simply because the new employee is related to April even though the parent and child had been attending this daycare for years before the new employee started. My child never wanted to go in and when I dropped him off the room always smelled like someone or multiple children hadn't been changed. there are better centers to send your kids to for the same price .
I now know the previous posts were all made by a disgruntled employee who was let go back in August 2015 for excessive cell phone use. The center has a no phone policy & she was clearly not going to stop. All of the staff at Diapers 2 Diplomas have all been there over a year. So that statement is incorrect, as well. The center has paired up with the Nebraska Extension & even made the newspaper for its outstanding work with children via a garden & hatching chicks! They are constantly bringing in mentors to help children that need special care. They don't give up on even the most difficult children.....& my child is not a walk in the park. Lol. Don't always believe what you read on the Internet. Some people feel bad about themselves & think tearing others down will make them feel better. Feel free to check out the centers Facebook page!! April kane will justify anything to make her daycare look better dont speak of the fact how another employee amy the prek teacher bit another child that wasnt even in her classroom. Bitting a child from the start but how she took the blame & "swept it under the rug" because the Parent was her family member is just wrong. She is a joke the only stable employee she has been able to keep is amy the prek teacher who is strongly disliked by parents that they have taken their child out of this center.
My children LOVE this center & I have never had a problem here!! The allegations that were made were from disgruntled employees & are simply untrue. The center has been cleared on said allegations by both the DHHS (CPS) and the Omaha Police Department. Don't always believe what you hear!!! My children will be attending this center for a very long time! They do lots of activities with our children & they are always bringing home the cutest artwork! We love the center!!!
I contacted the police and CPS today after I learned about allegations of abuse & neglect of a local daycare setting. The allegations including locking my children (all 3 and under) in a pantry with the lights off for 20 minutes at a time, physically rough with my 2 year old son, verbally screaming at him until he urinated his pants, locking him outside unattended for 10+ minutes at at time, etc. these allegations are horrendous and I think all the parents deserve to know about it. I also feel that due to my children being adopted through foster care, that the actions of these staff have continued to abuse them and torment their little lives. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!
I do not agree with previous comment. From what I am aware the staff is engaging with children and are friendly and keep me to date when I pick up my child. They do lesson plans and provide information daily to the parent of what was provided to the child as well as their moods/activities the child did. This place came highly recommended by several other individuals and the two individuals I recommended this day care are also satisfied.
Does not hire quality staff. Rude to staff, parents, & children. Negligent in all aspects of not only running a business but a childcare center. Does not follow through with plans and promises stated on the contract provided. Children get yelled at throughout the whole day. No real lessons are happening in this center. Awful, I do not know how this place is still in business.
