Description: Established in 1981 by Diane Oakman and Vicki Piotrowski, Countryside has secured a positive reputation in the community of Homestead by making its environment a well organized, exciting place of learning. Diane and Vicki’s success in building such a reputable school was due to their philosophy on Early Childhood education; to teach academic skills, develop creativity and to build a healthy self-concept. Diane and Vicki developed a curriculum that fostered the learning for all the age groups at Countryside.

I have had a wonderful experience at Countryside ELC. The teachers and administration are great and always available. They have an enormous outdoor area for children to play which to me is extremely important. Teachers care for the children, they teach them and do fun activities with them. They also provide music, sports and other programs.
I had my first son there since he was 2 and he is now thriving in 3rd grade. Currently I have my 4 year old there and he is doing great.
Accidents happen but the teachers and administration always handle things well.
Wow, I am unclear what this other parent is speaking of. My child attended Countryside since he was 2 years old about 6 years ago and I loved it. I just had an OOoooops baby who is now 1 year and currently enrolled at the school.
When my son went there six years ago he fell on the playground on one of their equipment. The school reimbursed me the cost of my expenses, accomodated my son in a cast and we were able to finish his last year there.
As far as being cramped, it is small and outdated BUT the service and academic program they provide is UNCOMPARABLE in Homestead. I have various friends that have switched their "newly" looking facilities to put them at Countryside. Ask the good public schools in HOmestead what learning center they should recommend and they all say it Countryside!
Anyways, I initially wanted to state that their now Apple Accredited and their rooms look fantastic!
I would never recommend this place to anyone. It is overcrowded, the space is very cramped and to access your child class you almost have to step on the other kids. Overall the quality of care is on par with the other day care, the building and equipment looks old.
If your child has an injury in the school they wont hold responsibility for anything. They just tell you they're kids and accidents "happen" even though if your child ends up without a tooth.
