Welcome
Community Church Preschool, a ministry of South Ferncreek Community Church, continues to grow to meet the varied needs of today’s family. The aim of this ministry is to share, nurture, encourage, and grow students in Christ today and to build strong foundational skills to help them meet the challenges of tomorrow. It is our desire to provide a loving, safe learning environment that parents can trust and where children can flourish.
Community Church is committed to caring for children, showing concern for families and providing support for the surrounding community. We believe that each child is a precious gift from God. Because so much learning and personality formation takes place before the age of six, we believe it is important for each child to be provided every opportunity to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually to their fullest potential.
There is a full time director, administrative assistant, and a staff of professional early childhood educators. All instructors are experienced and meet all State requirements. Our Staff is continually increasing their awareness and knowledge to meet the ever-changing needs of families.
Educational Philosophy
Community Church Preschool implements a child-sensitive approach to early childhood learning and teaching. We believe that each child begins to learn the moment they enter God’s world and that each caregiver is a teacher to that child.
Our Nursery is staffed with qualified and dedicated caretakers who seek to display the love of Christ in a nurturing atmosphere. Our Toddler room staff provides a safe and exciting environment where children are encouraged to discover through music and hands-on activities. Our Preschoolers are stimulated through a variety of applications that touch each sense, providing learning experiences to meet the needs of our energetic three, four, and five year olds.
We delight in children’s voices and movements. Where safety and limits are needed, our staff guides the children’s behavior through positive direction and modeling. We encourage each child’s independence and active concern for others, helping children build friendships and to learn to play and work well together.
We are committed to the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development of each child as well as academic skill development. We believe that these developments and concepts are best fostered in a Christian environment, rich in opportunities for growth.
