Description:
I provide a small group setting that offers each child one on one attention in a developmentally appropriate environment with just a few children. This smaller group will afford me the opportunity to work with each child on his/her various levels of development and also encourage a safe and secure child/caregiver bond. I will supply the time, materials and guidance for each child to succeed in their learning journey. The importance of the first three years in a child's life are finally being factually represented and because of this I have decided to focus on this most important age of development. The children are engaged daily in a variety of activities that are intended to develop good social, emotional, cognitive and physical development as well as lay a strong foundation for language and reading readiness skills. Consistency and creativity are key elements in my program allowing for unique learning styles and developmental needs. My goal is to provide the best quality child care using proven resources that enhance each child's daily experience. The children are exposed to fun activities that encourages creativity and discovery in environment for gaining friendships while encouraging self-esteem and confidence.
Located in Odenton, MD, with quick access to Fort Meade, NSA, Annapolis and Baltimore, we are three minutes from the Marc station and the intersection of 170 and 175. Offering all day care for children 1 to 4 years and before/after care for kindergarten through second grade in Odenton Elementary School District. I have excellent long term references and 20 years experience in a play based/hands on learning environment. I am CPR/First Aid/SIDS certified, have hundreds of hours of child development training, have achieved a Level 5 Maryland Child Care Credential, a level 3 in MD EXCELS and I am working on completing an early childhood degree. I have taken both versions of the Maryland Model for School Readiness and also the Creative Curriculum training. Both of these resources influence my daily curriculum. I follow USDA guidelines for meals and snacks in a smoke and pet free environment that is child centered.
