My 10 month old child has been attending this daycare for roughly 2 months and though i am for the most part satisfied with the facility it's self, the way it is ran needs major improvement. My main concern was when i arrived at home one day and found that my child's food was still in her bag untouched. When i addressed this with director i had a very negative experience. There was no taking ownership or responsibility for the lack of care by her employee. She immediately began giving me excuses, lying and trying to rush me off the phone. The director, Ms. Sue, said that my child was given the food in her cubby. I advised her that that was not possible as i cook her food and send it in daily. My child does not eat prepackaged baby food. She then said my child had no appetite and did not want to eat her food. I again advised her that that could not be the case because as i cook her food and it is vacuum sealed, the container was clearly not opened and the seal intact. Secondly, if my child was not wanting to eat, nor take a bottle, as all her formula was still in her container, why was i not contacted. The receptionist was the one to answer the phone and handed it off to the director immediately. How did you know what took place in the room if you didn't even speak to the attendant that was in the room. Then i received no apology, no course of correction, just excuses and "i will look into it". She never did get back to me about it or follow up with me. The redeeming factor in all this was the care giver in the infant room did take ownership and apologize immediately. My other concerns are that the temperature for the infant room works off the the thermostat by the front door so it is always freezing in the room. They do not allow any blankets for the babies when napping. They say it is because of DCF but, DCF statue states that blankets must be provided. The front door is also broken and slams shut. Not sure if it locks but, with no staff at the front desk, I have personally walked in and throughout the building without anyone knowing i was there. What kind of safety does that provide my child who is in the front room with a huge window that opens to the lobby area. Needless to say, I am currently looking for a new daycare provider.
