Immediately upon becoming aware of the situation at 5:20pm, the second staff member called the remaining 2 children in the building and requested the parents pick-up. At 545pm, I was notified of the incident occurring at the site. I immediately headed towards the facility, while doing so I notified two state licensing representatives via voicemail and then notified facility person #1 and her husband there would be an immediate termination from the position at the facility. Once all children were picked up and law enforcement finished, I required an immediate mandatory meeting with the two employees who worked on this date with staff person #1. During this meeting they were notified that they would be required to complete a substance abuse awareness training in the workplace prior to returning to work on Monday, along with all other staff members employed at the site to ensure that despite our no tolerance policy for substance abuse, if this occurred again, staff would have the ability to recognize symptoms when present.
