Description: CEOGC's Head Start program serves over 3,000 children annually throughout the Greater Cleveland community. In partnership, CEOGC and its partners deliver high-quality early childhood education programs in safe, nurturing environments. In addition to an engaging pre-school environment, CEOGC Head Start provides health, mental health and dental screenings, nutritious meals and family literacy opportunities to incorporate the entire family into the spirit of growth and responsibility.
Parental input and involvement in the Head Start program is vital to the growth and development of the program and the children who participate in it. In addition to participating in classroom activities, parents are encouraged to voice their opinions and shape the program through Parent Committee's at each Head Start Center. Select parents serve on a CEOGC Policy Council that includes representatives from CEOGC and it's partners. The CEOGC Policy Council has a distinct voice in the operation and governance of CEOGC's Head Start program.
The childcare industry buzzword for the past several years has been collaboration. In order to provide the highest quality childcare to the most children in need, CEOGC has engaged in community partnerships with numerous private day care centers as well as the East Cleveland public schools. These collaborations extend Head Start services to eligible children in these innovative settings in locations throughout Cuyahoga County.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. When you first go in to see this Head Start, you think WOW!!! They tell you exactly what you want to hear and sale the place like a perfect school for your child that has cameras for safety factors. They were all very friendly in the beginning, but when my daughter started acting out in class and telling me things that teachers they would would tell her. Of course when these things were addressed no one had an idea on why my daughter would make up such a lie. So we used all their resources to help my daughter get back on tract. The outside help is wonderful, but it's pointless when the teachers have no patience with your child and completely burnout from teaching . On day I decided to go pick my daughter up earlier so I went around the back way to observe my daughter's behavior though the parent glass, because I would always hear about my daughter's terrible behavior that I never witness and that she would only have at the place. I started watching though the glass and while I did 3 teachers where sitting on one side of the room watching my daughter and another child fight and told the other child to push my daughter on the ground until I banged on the glass for it to stop. When I came around to ask the teachers why they are letting them fight, one teacher said because were not aloud to break it up and since I was watching did I observe my daughter running around the class prior to that???? What does that even have to do with it? The other teacher says well she hit him first, even if the case why are you letting them fight, break it up.......so of course everything I said was a lie and guess what the camera aren't working. No one got in any trouble it was their word against mine, so they best solution they could give is change classes or location. Please don't take your child here. I feel like my daughter's first impression about school was ruined by the bully group of teachers that work there. I am still trying to get my daughter back to where she started off. If I could give this place no stars I would, but site won't let me.And since nothing was really done not only on my daughters behave and the other children that witness this, this is the least I can do and try and get the word out.
