I have used this provider for less than 6 months

Our child attended Carrington Academy Big Creek for approximately 3months. Prior to that he had been in daycare since he was 9months old. My son was 3.

I noticed our 3yr old son would start crying every time I dropped him off. He didn't want to go into his class. He would throw fits every time! I thought he was just being a kid and wanting to stay with mummy.
As it turns out, it was much worse than we thought! He was being mistreated physically, verbally and psychologically. He was yanked, hit and put out of the class constantly. His teachers  started complaining about his behavior from the 2nd week of him being enrolled.
We spoke to his teachers and even the director on numerous occasions concerning their complaints - please note that he had come from a different daycare where he had been for over 2 years with no issues.
We discovered a lot of things had been happening at Carrington Academy - Big Creek that were illegal and going unchecked. For instance, they had 5 daycare teachers/workers without background checks (this is a requirement), one of which had been there for almost a year!!! Carrington Academy - Big Creek was cited for this by Bright from the Start, a state agency responsible for overseeing daycare centers in GA. We got them involved and asked them to investigate. They did.
2 of the teachers we complained about were fired. We got the police involved as well. We are in the process of suing the parent company for gross negligence. Through the investigation we found a lot more heartbreaking things were happening to other people's children.

There was no head teacher in my son's class the entire time. They are not trained to guide and/or teach your little ones. You need to ask what qualifications these people actually have or better yet, stay away.
Please refer to the link below from Bright from the Start before making any decisions about placing their child(ren) in their care.
This is NOT the place for your precious babies. They seem more interested in your money than in the care they should be rendering.  This is every parents' nightmare.

Below is an excerpt from the Bright from the Start investigation as link is below:

The following information is associated with a Complaint Closure:
Safety
591-1-1-.11 Discipline(CR) Not Met
Finding Associated with Complaint
591-1-1-.11(2) requires that Personnel not: physically or sexually abuse a child or engage or permit others to
engage in sexually overt conduct in the presence of any child enrolled in the Center; inflict corporal/physical
punishment upon a child; shake, jerk, pinch or handle a child roughly; verbally abuse or humiliate a child which
includes, but is not limited to, the use of threats, profanity or belittling remarks about a child or his family;
isolate a child in a dark room, closet or unsupervised area; use mechanical or physical restraints or devices to
discipline children; use medication to discipline or control children's behavior without written medical
authorization issued by a licensed professional and given with the parent's written consent; restrict
unreasonably a child from going to the bathroom; punish toileting accidents; force-feed a child or withhold
feeding a child regularly scheduled meals and/or snacks; force or withhold naps; allow children to discipline or
humiliate other children; or confine a child for disciplinary purposes to a swing, highchair, infant carrier, walker
or jump seat. It was determined based on consultant's investigative findings staff members used inappropriate
disciplinary techniques with three-year-old children. Staff members were observed to yell and put a three-year old
out of a classroom for disciplinary reasons. Video footage further revealed that a staff member was
observed to pick-up a three-year-old child by the waist and slam the child in a red chair. A second staff
member was also observed to grab a three-year-old by the arm and place them in a corner. A third video
footage also sowed a second staff member pick-up a three-year-old by the arm and move the child. As the
child proceeded to hit another three-year-old child the second staff member attempted to grab the child to no
avail.
POI (Plan of Improvement)
The Center will take immediate action to ensure the action/conduct has ceased; train/review appropriate child
guidance techniques with center staff; and have a system in place to monitor and identify inappropriate actions.
Correction Deadline: 10/25/2018
