From the first day I took a tour of B’Nai Torah Nursery School I knew it was the place for my 2 year old. My son had never been in a nursery school setting before, hardly any play groups and only a handful of activities like library programs. To say the least, I was a bit concerned for how he’d be socially. The transition was seamless - he is doing great! The teachers at B’Nai Torah are phenomenal. They truly care about the children and they’re giving my son a wonderful experience. In only few short weeks he has learned so much. He’s playing better with other children, his vocabulary has exploded and he’s learned shapes, numbers and letters. All in four weeks. Unbelievable. If you’re looking for a warm, loving, nurturing and safe environment to send your child then this is the place.
This is my son's second year at B'nai Torah Nursery. He started in the 2s and is now in the 3s. We couldn't be happier with this nursery school! Our son loves it and asks every morning if he has "school kids". We plan on coming back for the 4s.
Our family doesn't live anywhere close to grandparents or other family, so the idea of leaving our son with someone else was difficult. B'nai Torah was the first and only school we toured because I could see how loved and cared for he would be. After seeing the teachers with the kids, we decided it was perfect! Also, my son was a really late talker and within a month or two of starting school he really started talking.
Their activities are age-appropriate and promote learning in a fun way. The teachers give them confidence in their ability to learn and interact with the world around them. They teach kids how to think and investigate and solve problems in a fun, hands-on way. The kids do so much: music, baking, art, gym, playing outside.... Every day my son comes home with a great story about his day or a new song or a cool art project.
The teachers are so supportive, and Miss Joan is a wealth of information. I've gone to her several times for advice, and it has always been open and helpful. If you ask her a question, the next day she will have several articles printed out for you, and she always follows up to see how it's going.
We LOVE B'nai Torah. We love the passionate, informed educators as well as the loving and warm environment.
My daughter went to B'nai Torah Nursery School for three years and she enjoyed every minute of it. I loved the fact that the activities were always sensible and perfectly age appropriate. I also appreciated the thought that went into arranging the start time and length of the school day. The schedules were arranged according to what was best for each age group and this school got it right every year. The teachers were experienced and they knew what each child was capable of achieving. I was always amazed at how much the kids accomplished each day. The days had structure and the kids knew the routine. I sent my daughter to nursery school so she would learn social interaction with her peers, and at B'nai Torah she learned that and so much more. When my daughter entered kindergarten this past September she was completely ready for it because of her wonderful experience at B'nai Torah. I will always have fond memories of this school and I highly recommend it.
B’nai Torah Nursery School is a wonderful preschool. My children spent their 3 years of preschool there. We loved the school. They have caring and nurturing teachers with very low turnover creating a warm community and a truly child-centered curriculum. Joan, the Director has been with the school for decades and brings with her experience, wisdom and knowledge of early childhood development. If I ever had any concerns about my child, Joan and the teachers would take the time to talk to me and give me their advice and insights. I felt that it was a true partnership between the school and I, as a parent in nurturing our children during those very important formative years. I would highly recommend B’nai Torah Nursery School to any parent.
