Little Learners is a licensed Large Family Child Care Home that offers full time child care from 6:30am - 5:30pm with a preschool curriculum offered from 8:30am -12:00pm.
Children are natural learners and it has been proven that children learn best through play. In my program, we promote free thinkers by allowing children to freely engage in an environment that has been intentionally set up to extend their learning. The curriculum is tailored around the current interests of the children and meets each child at their developmental level. More importantly, my program promotes a peaceful curriculum. We help children express and label their emotions and guides them towards conflict negotiation strategies that will allow them to coexist peacefully with their peers.
We hold conferences twice a year, one at the end of spring and one at the end of fall. I use the California DRDP (2015) rating scale to assess the child's learning, show families where their child is developmentally, and to show case how the child has been progressing through out the year.
We participate in the Solano County Food Program so healthy meals and snacks are provided.
I want every child to feel my home is more than just their school or their child care, but their home away from home. Children may spend anywhere from 8-10 hours in my program, so feeling comfortable is a must!
