They will keep your child safe. Lunch and snacks are junk food. Handbook is discriminatory. Staff care more about appearances than children. Before you enroll your child ask around in the community. Read licensing reports. I thought it was a beautiful place with loads of room. Everyone cringed when I said where my daughter went. Ask them how they handle behavior. 2 year olds go into time out for everything. Ratios are at max. Staff can’t manage. They frequently kick out children. Staff talk badly about director. When you see what else is available this place should be last on your list. They need new management.
Well if your child being alive at the end of the day is your primary concern it might be a good option. For first time parents you might think their procedures and expectations are ok. They're not. They're circa 1950. Anyone with true child development expertise knows that time outs for 2 year olds are ineffective. They kick out two and three year olds as if they've got the self-control of of teenagers. They do not want any children that are not 'easy'. Read the guidelines carefully - they are designed to exclude children. They discipline two year olds for running in the playground. The lunches are included but they are not very healthy. They usually operate at the maximum child:teacher ratio. My child's behavior improved exceptionally after leaving and other parents have remarked the same. Be sure to go to the state website to look up their inspections. There are many unsubstantiated but unsubstantiated only means they could not prove or disprove a complaint. On the brightside it's big, lots of room to play, lots of toys and books - buyer beware.
I had a wonderful experience at the Belmont Shore Store. Last weekend I took my niece Abbie to buy a few pieces of clothing as we had scheduled a"date with the aunt time." While in the store, Abbie lost a $20 bill her mother had given her. Just as a note, I mentioned it the cashier Elatia W.,and she in turn mentioned it to the other cashiers/workers. I left my number, knowing that it would probably be unlikely anyone would turn it in, cash--no way. But to my surprise the next day I got a call from the store letting me know that a worker by the name of Logan V. had found the cash and they were holding it for me. I was flabbergasted. You don't see that today. A bunch of nice, young people working for this great store and being so very, very honest. They made me think that their are still great, honest young people in this world. I commend the store manager for hiring these exceptional young people. Thank you!
