This place is not good for kids . They have way to many kids. No structure . They let the kids run around with nothing to do and when they get in a little trouble they kick them out . Big employee turnover. The counselors are under payed , and have no experience.
This is the first year I have ever had to use a full time daycare center myself. I looked into all of the programs near me and the YMCA seemed to be the best, keyword "seemed". I paid $140 since we were already members. While signing up you are told there are age groups. My child was suppose to be in the 5-7 year old adventure camp. Also they tell you to fill out a form and only people on the form can pick up your child. If an incident occurs with your child, the parent is supposed to be called. All of the things I listed exact opposite was done. The entire summer my child was mixed in with older children because they explained to me when I complained that they have no way of keeping them separate. I was also told if I do not want my 7 year old participating in group dodge ball (which included the other children up to age 12) that he would have to sit out during the activity. Kind of messed up considering it should have only been 5-7 year old's anyways. Should my child have to sit out of any activity for his 5-7 year old adventure camp when his parents pay $140 a week for him to go there? Unless he is in trouble for something-I think no. Next on several different occasions his grandparents or my ex husband picked my child up from daycare, no id's were asked, not even as much as a name was asked for. Anyone can walk through the doors that are unlocked in the front and walk right into the gym area where tons of children are aged 5-12 years old. As we all know this is not safe. Nothing is checked by the front desk, let alone the counselors "taking" care of the children. Yesterday my son was attacked by another child, a child whom should not have been in his play group anyways. He has several marks across the side of his face going into his hairline. He also has a cut in his ear and bumps on the side of his head. One of the bumps on the left side of his head had been bleeding. No one contacted me. Not one phone call was made to notify me. No one explained the situation to me. My child was picked up by his grandparents (which was not asked whom they were and this was their first time ever going there). The counselor told my parent there had been an incident and the child was much bigger than my son. Again no one contacted me. Probably because he should not have been around the child in the first place. Do not waste your money on this program. They do not do as they should or say they do. I will make sure everyone hears about this!!
