Magical thinking? Indeed. This is so sad when you have to have friends and family write reviews and its completely obvious when they all come in on the same day for goodness sake. I guess thats what happens when you are culled by a group for being different. I won't allow my children to be subjected to people who mock their own children as a means to validate themselves. My child has encountered name calling way to many times, back talk, and talking behind others back. When you little comes home and asks why does Ms. Copy cat? That kind of brings things into focus. I want my child to learn tolerance, respect for others rights, and mindfulness. I want my child to be compassionate. Not, self indulgence at the expense of another's feelings. I am glad that Stephanie has a group of people who support her, she really is in need of true compassion because of hurting. Sometimes criticism, is a great opportunity to learn. And real friends, would be honest.
If I agree to keep having children, can we just stay at this school forever? Is it telling that my now graduating 1st grader still considers Stephanie and his time at ADS his favorite ever and begs to come with me to pick up his sister any chance he gets? I could list out all the specific charms and gifts of this school, but that’s already been eloquently done here. And to each, I nod enthusiastically. I’ll simply comment on the kindness and love that is the foundation of this program, it’s owner and teachers. I am impressed daily with the knowledge and positive behaviors that my kids come home with and am forever grateful to have found this community.
We have been lucky enough to have our daughter at Arcadian day school since she was 3 years old. Stephanie, the owner is nothing short of incredible in every way. Experienced, smart, kind, caring, communicative - everything you could ask for in someone who is with your child.
The teacher to student ratio is but one of the many reasons as well with 5 kids to teacher . Kids get one on one attention. A great bonus is you don’t need to pack a lunch for your child, Stephanie makes healthy lunch for the kiddos, and often they get to help make baked goods. Can’t recommend this wonderful school enough!
ADS is a hidden gem in Phoenix. When looking for a preschool, I wanted a place that would prioritize play and give my son a foundational love of learning while building positive social emotional skills. ADS does all of that and more. A few highlights:
* The campus of ADS is a dream. There are flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, chickens, goats and so much space to run and explore. They spend the majority of the time outdoors.
* They somehow manage to create a learning environment that is play based and child interest led while maintaining the structure and boundaries needed for the children to grow and learn.
* Ms Stephanie, the director, and Ms. Tatum and Ms. Wendi all are the most patient, gentle, kind and passionate teachers. It is clear that they truly love spending time with the children and seeing them grow and learn.
My son has attended ADS for two years. He comes home happy every day, has made special friendships and loves going to school. He has learned so much and I can’t wait to send my younger son when is old enough!
This school is magic. It’s the sweetest most peaceful place for my littles to learn and grow. I have two kiddos that attend school here and both are thriving. We had attended 2 other schools prior to joining the ADS family and we are just so in love with how much growth and love we see in our girls. We know they are so loved and cared for each and everyday. Plus they learn about gardening and grow their own veggies which they use to make their daily lunches and snacks. So now both my kids love trying new veggies and help me plant in our garden at home. This school is raising the sweetest, most caring, thankful, intentional, plant loving future generation and I am just so grateful my kids get to experience this place.
My child has been enrolled at Arcadian Day School for two years, and it has been nothing short of excellent. At the end of each week, she asks how many more "sleeps" (days) until she can return. She adores her teachers, she has learned so much in anticipation of kindergarten and she looks forward to every day she gets to spend here. Not only is the environment safe and supportive, but the providers invest themselves 100% every single day in providing a nurturing environment where my daughter and her classmates can learn, explore and gratify their curiosity. It is a truly magical experience for both children and their families. (My 12-year-old wishes she could go to school here!)
This school is the best of the best. Run by gifted, kind, patient, and loving teachers, it is an ideal environment for young children. The program is rooted in play, with exploratory learning based on the children's natural interests. They are taught how to garden, care for a variety of animals, and interact as a peaceful community. My children LOVE this school, and have learned an extraordinary amount in the most joyful manner possible. With modeling from their teachers, the children interact and navigate conflict with respect and thoughtfulness. They take pride in becoming increasingly independent and responsible. As a psychiatrist and a mother, there is no school I could trust more to care for my children.
Arcadian Day School is committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. My daughter attended preschool there from 2.5 years old through 5. In that time she received top notch care and instruction that developed her cognitive, emotional, and social skills. Arcadian Day focuses on hands-on learning activities, play-based learning, and individualized attention to students. These approaches help children develop a love for learning, build their self-confidence, and foster their creativity and imagination. The dedication and expertise of the preschool staff is unmatched. The owner and teachers are passionate about their work and genuinely care about their students' well-being. They make a significant difference in a child's learning experience. My daughter thrived in this environment and to this day says Miss Stephanie is her favorite teacher ever.
I wish my daughter could forever be at ADS, This has been one of the best experiences a mother could hope for sending their child to preschool, after two years it’s time for my daughter to leave to go to Kindergarten, I and she are so sad to be leaving, it has been a truly wonderful experience, the education academic and nature based has expanded her mind no end, she is inquisitive, thoughtful and engaged with nature and the world around her, the love and patience the teachers have showered upon her has allowed her to grow and blossom to become the confident, fun, and loving little girl she now is, I have nothing but admiration, gratitude and love for this school, it’s amazing teachers and the fun and cheeky school pets.
If the opportunity arises to visit or attend ADS, please do- this place is magical for the littles.
It is disheartening to see that someone who has not used their services writes such a slandering review.
How do you have so much information if your child didn’t attend? You should be ashamed of yourself, disregarding the damage that you cause on a community that trusts this establishment with their precious children.
My daughter attended this day school for 3 years, until she aged out, and has missed it since.
We were blessed with discovering this place and the family that runs it.
Stephanie has a PHD on child development, and couldn’t be any more qualified to run it. Additionally, she’s a mother and upholds family values, creating a nurturing environment for all the children in her school.

I would not recommend. Husband runs the show and runs his business inside the home while kids do manual labor. Owner has a bad potty mouth despite her many degrees. She berates and belittles her toddler In front of others. Not an example I want around my children.
This woman couches her program as if its an elite day care with learning but in reality she is a glorified bad mouthed baby sitter.
children and families must be vetted, and must be invited. Perhaps they are being funded by tax dollars or running a scam, don't know. But I wouldn't want my child around them.
