We were with Apple Jacks for over 2.5 years. My experience with them was great up until about 4 months ago
My son was being placed in a booster seat (age 3) for HOURS at a time for punishment we had No communication with Teachers or Director until about 2 weeks ago when he stated my child had been having issue playing with other kids. We shadowed play times without our child knowing that we were there. We didn’t notice anything but we trusted their word. For the next week we told “He’s doing much better” but he was still placed in a booster seat and secluded from his classmates. We asked other parents that attend Apple Jacks if they seen our child in a booster seat. They replied yes, 1 even stated that she is more surprised to see my child out of the seat than in it.
Their policy states that a child should only be placed in a seat for 1 minute times there age (3 mins) yet they had no documentation of what this issue was, or how long he had actually been in the seat.
We contacted the Daycare and asked to speak with the director. His girlfriend who is the head teacher called us back, listen to our concern briefly then told us “well, I have a dinner to attended at 6pm so this will have to wait till later”
We had a meeting the next day and they double down on placing our child in a seat for several hours and, never offered a formal apology, and pretty much treated us as if we didn’t have the right to bring our concerns to them. they both stated that we are lucky that they called us back because they only get paid from 7-530pm and that no other day care would call back after hours.
My child is thriving at his new day care and I am only writing this because I would hate for this to happen to another child.
