I would like to start my review by saying that my son never actually received care from Angie. However, I think my experience should be shared. I began to communicate with her 6 months before moving to Colorado and really liked her. I met with her twice in person upon moving to the state. Both times, after meeting with her and agreeing that my son could join her daycare, Angie backed out. The first time this happened, she said it was because she didn't feel as though she got to know my family well enough and that she did not want to rush into something. So, I asked if she would like to meet again, for a longer period of time after I returned from work-related travel. After meeting her the second time, I left our meeting with a long packet of paperwork, including several documents that required a notary signature, and read through her entire daycare manual packet. During this second meeting, I had also expressed some concern regarding traffic between my work on Anschutz Medical Campus and her home (which results in a 30-40 minute drive) and her end-care time of 4 PM. I asked if we could have a 1 week trial period (which is well within-her mandatory 2-week trial week) so that I could get a sense of how things would go with drop-off/pick-up traffic. She seemed fine with this. After I left that day, I filled out all of the paperwork and read her entire pamphlet. Then, per Angie's suggestion after the first time we met (but before she backed out), I asked the mother of the child she was currently providing care for to drop my documents off for me since she wanted the hard copy. This was possibly a mistake on my part, as I think Angie wanted to see me drop off the document myself. However, I did this (1) to save myself some time, especially since the other mother works near me and it was easy to give the documents to her, and (2) Angie herself had suggested it previously. After I texted Angie to let her know that I would be sending my paperwork with the other mother and that it would be arriving well before her mandatory 24-hour period, she told me that she felt our arrangement was doomed from the start because I was concerned about traffic and couldn't even make the trip to drop off my son's documents. I realize some of this behavior is due to her meticulous nature of wanting to find the perfect playmate for the child she is currently providing care for, but it made it so that I was without care for my son for a while since I had given his other provider two weeks notice. Thankfully, his previous provider was able to increase her licensing capacity and take him back.

I have taken my son to three different centers and two in-home cares, and he has also been taken care of by three nannies (this is largely due to the fact that I ended up cobbling together care after the center he was receiving full-time care from unexpectedly shut down). I am fairly confident that I am a responsible, loving, involved, and responsive mother. Through my experience so far with multiple care situations, never have I ever have I ever had an experience like this most recent one with Angie. All of this being said, I know she provides excellent care for the child she is currently taking care of. Her home is bright and clean, and is a child's paradise. However, if you want to receive care from her, be forewarned that she is extremely nit-picky (i.e., she has a chemical allergy to fragrances, she has rules about graphic tees and words on the childrens' shirts, etc) and can go from being caring and sweet, to backing out and cutting you off - seemingly at the flip of a switch (or, in my case, a text).

If the child care experience begins when you first meet the provider, then I believe I am justified in reviewing Angie. While I cannot speak to what it was like to receive care from her, I hope this information is useful for anyone who is considering Angie.
