Description: Altrusans in Battle Creek have been supporting quality child care since shortly after the chapter was formed in 1922. Currently the group sponsors one Child Care Learning Center, located in Irving Park in Battle Creek. Every member of the Altrusa organization is automatically a member of Altrusa Day Nursery, Inc., a separate non-profit entity which manages the facilities. The Board which oversees the operation of the day care centers is elected from within the membership of Altrusa in Battle Creek.
