If there were a 0 star option that would be more accurate. I was just fired from this center yesterday because I had an appointment for my son with his doctor. When I made the appointment, Alice King told me that it was fine for me to take a long lunch that day so I can take my son. Which meant that she gave me verbal consent. I also put in a written request just in case. The day of my appointment for him (yesterday), she told me to cancel his appointment because she allowed 2 of my coworkers to do CPR training during the time I was supposed to be gone. My son has a brain tumor and a hip abnormality so it was extremely important not to miss any appointments. Being an employee/teacher I understood that being already understaffed as it is, that I should have tried to reschedule. But as a parent to a child with special needs, I felt it unnecessary to just let my child suffer because my boss didnt care about my sons well being. I then went to the supervisor who told me to take my kids outside to be with her & left with my son to his appointment. Within an hour of being gone I was fired, & was told that I left without reason & didnt provide doctors notes from previous appointments (which are in her office). By Washington state law, I was wrongfully fired. As a now former employee and no longer one of her customers, I feel that people should know the truth about what happens there. Like it has been said by the reviewers before me, the teachers do not look like they want to be there. To be honest, we love kids. Thats why we do what we do. & it is not the parents or the kids that are the problem, the attitude is from being overworked with the screwed up ratios and being treated like crap from the owner. I always tried to have a smile on my face everyday no matter what but it is difficult sometimes. Also there are ants and flies everywhere. Bleach is reachable to children, no matter where the teacher puts it in the room to be up high it ends up back in the same spot in the bathroom. A lot of the incidents that happen are not recorded or recorded but not given to the parents because the owner screens what we can write and sometimes even throws away or ignores incidents that would damage her centers reputation. Teachers have to provide their own materials for their classrooms sometimes because the owner always says she doesnt have the money for it. I apologize to the parents who have had bad experiences at this center. I know exactly how you feel. I really hope that youre able to find a good childcare and you should really take those concerns to court or contact the department of learning so that doesnt happen to any children ever again.
I couldn't agree more with CONCERNED PARENT. My child was there for two days. The first day she was fine but when I picked my child up it was like she hadn't ate all day, she was shoving food in her mouth. The second day she cried her lungs out when I tried to leave which is very unusual for my child to do. I told the teacher that a bottle might help she then asked what kind of formula she was on? I then went on to tell her that my child drinks whole milk. She then explained that she couldn't leave the classroom. I volunteered to get it. When I came back I noticed that she had 9 children in her care under the age of 2! When my husband picked up my child later on that day the teacher told him that she was very tired and overwhelmed. I later on thought about the day before and her not knowing what my child drank, which made me think, "then what the hell did they give my child?". I took my child out of there immediately. 2 days later I wemt there and explained that I would no longer be bringing my child there and that I would need her immunization record back. The owner then told me that I would still be responsible for my co-payment, mind you my child's 2 days there were the 29 & 30. She had recently explained that the co-payment wouldn't be due until the 1st of the next month...I had already transferred everything on the 1st to the new daycare. She seemed to have an attitude and would not give me the record until I paid. She was very unproffessional and did show any concern or inquiry as to why I was not staying with her daycare. As I walked through the classrooms they seem to be very understaffed and the teachers look very young and are uninviting. They did not give me or my husband a good feeling. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone they seem to be all about the money.
Would give no stars if I could. By far one of the worst daycares I've ever been to. The owner is rude and unethical. My child is starving every time I pick him up to the point I wonder if they even feed him or if so then not enough. There is heavy turnover. My son has had 4 different teachers and all of the employees look like they do not want to be there.
There have been times when I've walked in to check on my son and the teachers have left me in the room with 5 other infants leaving me responsible for them which has to be some kind of violation.
I've walked in and seen the owner yelling and acting extremely rude to some of the parents that have shown up to pick up their child. My child has come back with scars with no explanation.
Stay away. There are far better child care facilities around. I highly do not recommend this.
