Connect, Seek Advice, Share Knowledge
I have nothing to say but positive about this childcare center. They have bent over backwards to help my son through all his struggles. He is a very busy little guy and we are thankful for all the help and resources that they have helped us connect to. He loves going to school every day and seeing all his friends and his teachers.
I have used this for my eight-year-old for about six years and for my son for two years. I have had many different experiences over the years with staff and owners and all I can say is I love this place. they are amazing with the kids and I only have amazing things to say about the staff and the owners. all my kids will go to this daycare for as long as possible. They have always been generous, understanding, considerate & more than helpful on occasions. My kids love this place & I wouldn’t take them anywhere else.
I had a horrible experience at ABC Ville. My son was there for 2 and a half whole days before they told me they didn’t think it was going to work out. On his last day there, he was sick and miserable and I was called to come pick him up (as I should’ve been given he was sick). Well, I pick my 2 year old son up and they give me none of his belongings or tell me that this was his last day there. I go home under the impression that my son is still attending this daycare as long as he adapts soon, which should’ve been a red flag, considering they only gave my son 2 days before labeling him as “difficult.” I called later in the week to tell the owner that my son was COVID positive and wouldn’t be back until the following week. She rudely says “I don’t think you quite understand. We are not allowing him to return. We don’t provide care for kids with his needs.” In regards to his “needs,” my son was born very premature and has a speech delay. He also has had a rough life, as at only 2 years old, we suddenly lost his father only months prior to this experience. Considering this, as well as the fact that he’s only 2 years old, entering a new daycare was hard for him. The owner told me he required 1 to 1 supervision and that, “since they don’t get any state funding,” he could not be in their daycare. This was all over the fact that my son cried and cried on his last day there. My son was not familiar with the staff or place yet, oh and he was sick with COVID! I was blindsided with the fact that he was being kicked out of daycare after less than 3 days and shudder to think what would have happened to him if he had continued going to this run down and out dated establishment, full of uncaring staff. My son was not given loving care or even a chance to show them what a bright eyed, sweet and loving little guy that he really is. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
I am the owner of ABC-Ville and this is the only way that I know how to respond to the reviews posted on this site. In regards to Amber, I am not certain which teacher would have stopped you from reading to the children. This is strongly encouraged with all our staff to interact with the children and help them grow in their learning. We just ask the staff that if they are interacting with a small group that they are aware of the other children in the room that they are responsible for as well. We go through hours of continual trainings on how to interact and communicate with children and yelling is NOT an acceptable way to deal with the children. Sorry that you walked away with the experience you are claiming. I wish that I could have met you and shared a little more of our heart.
To Concerned, the previous owner has since retired and our teachers do an amazing job of helping the children get comfortable after parting with their parents.
I know that everyone has their own value that they place on reviews and I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinions. Before you allow a review to sway your opinion on our place or any other my advice would be for you to take a tour for yourself or call and talk with them about your concerns. I would be glad to set up a time to share more about who we are and what our philosophies are for our early childhood program.
Hello,
I completed an Early Childhood Education practicum here a few years ago. I know it seems weird that I am just now reviewing this place but I felt it was time as I was pretty upset with my experience. I want to first say that on one occasion I was fulfilling my hours and I began reading to the kids. I had about 5 kids around me listening to the story. I was told by the lead teacher to quit reading as it was making extra noise. One kid came up to me and begged me to read one more page and I had to tell him three times that I couldn't because we want to follow the teachers rules and she said no. On another occasion it was time for the kids to go outside and play so they were told they need to put their toys away. A couple of 4 year old boys were playing with some blocks and after they were told only 2 times to put the blocks away, the third time they were yelled at and they still did not put them away. I went over there and politely told the boys to please put away their blocks to they can go outside and the immediately did so and I reinforced them with a thank you. The kids just need the same respect adults to and I could not believe they did not allow people to read to the children, they also frowned upon me getting down and playing with individuals or small groups because all employees were supposed to be paying attention to all students. Would not recommend this daycare.
Had my child there for 2 years. Found out if you child starts crying because they miss you they are told to go to timeout until they are done. Owner is old fashioned and stuck in his ways. The kids are barely allowed to talk or they get in trouble. Not the Place to take your kids.
