Worried mom Dec 20, 2017
I have used this provider for less than 6 months

If I had to give his school a rating it would be a zero. The staff is really rude and the director/owner is the rudest person of all time. She has no respect for anyone ranging from students and teachers to the parents. When you voice an opinion her response is inappropriate and if she does not like what she’s hearing about the school or the situation at hand she just hangs up on you with an attitude multiple times. My Four-year-old daughter is more mature than that woman. The school itself is very disorganized and filthy. My child was always getting sick because they do not clean that school or change the filter for ACs or change the toys. They play with broken toys and a rusty playground. Learning is very minimal there as the teachers themselves do not even speak English. The kids are always out of control, my daughter would always cry and have anxiety about going to that school because there was no behavior management. The front door is never locked and they do not check IDs so anyone can come get your child. The facility is very disorganized and not conducive to learning. The facility should be shut down. If you care about your child I would not recommend you sending them there at all.

I moved from Hallandale to Hollywood 4 months ago! I have had really bad experiences with daycare's in the past! I have a 7,4,2 year old daughters and I was sooo worried about finding them a safe good school... But Thank GOD I found ABC SCHOOL down the street to my house, they have been such a blessing to me and my daughters and it finally feels right to drop them off to school in the mornings =) From the owner to the staff they all make me feel at home with my daughters and I couldn't be any happier than what I am now! Don't judge the school by what others experienced say in the past because u really don't know the other side to the story! By the way also my 7th old was able to attend 3 field trips a week in summer and only for 15 all included, and she gets picked up from school everyday and brought to the facility free of charge! For a single mother like myself this school has been a blessing to me, and when I move next year I only want to stay in the area just because of ABC school... Thank u to all the staff in ABC SCHOOL =)

Mommy 2 Be Dec 03, 2013

It asked to give a rating of 1-5....really wouldn't give It any stars. I am so glad I removed my children from ABC school because after observing over the years I realized that staying at this school for a cheaper price was my mistake from the beginning. My children suffer due to the owner Amparo's inconsistencies. I really could go on and on but I will just give you the key things that really made me made my decision. I have had my kids in all classes, all age ranges because I have more than one. I have seen teachers come and go and all have said they were leaving because of the owner. She is disorganized, has clutter all over the place, she has lost my kids papers, doesn't know a thing about computers, she doesn't know whether a parent has paid or not, she moves the kids and teachers around. She tried toso summer camp yet does no fund raising or anything to fund the program and has no set schedule. Only one yr when my kids were there they had a great director named Wanda I believe. Wanda had great ideas and would have been great but the owner would not let her direct. Then there was a young woman named Vanessa who made the place her own, she knew parents on a first name basis, everyone would talk to her and tell her to have Amparo stay home, she kept promising us that she would speak to the other owner about keeping her away but that never happened. She had Vanessa doing so many jobs and i felt so bad. She was with three year olds, i would see her on the bus with after care, cleaning and then at the front desk. I told her she is worth more than this badly run school. My very dear baby teacher She was a spanish lady from Cuba who really was great...I felt bad for her too and hope she got out. The VPK teacher Mrs. Gwen I have seen being screamed at my the owner in front of parents and children by Amparo. This is degrading and not businesslike and I was embassed for my children who put their heads down in shame. Whenever she was gone, the school was quiet and peaceful but when she was around it was chaos in finding my kids, no security in the front etc. It seems like she wanted a business, she bought a school yet doesn't know the first thing about running it. She hires help an doesn't let them do anything so changes cannot be made. Last but not least she promises to pick kids up from all different schools who get out at the same times so she shows up late and my friends daughter was forgotten twice ! Don't believebelieved call Beachside Montesorri. When she told me she had a kindergarten program starting I could not hold it in and had to laugh....hell no!!! My children would not be exposed to this inconsistent environment any further. Parent do your research, just because it looks nice doesn't mean the director has her head on straight....and if she doesn't, imagine what that does to staff? !? It makes them leave. Whats the common denominator in this poor director, Amparo. I cringe when I drive by the school but happy at our new place.

I was hired to teach the Art, Music, and Dance program to the VPK and After school care program, however, as the previous teacher mentioned, I too, was lied to about the position. I was told that I was to take separate groups at different times of the day to learn different thing, but 10 minutes in to my class, she would come in yelling that I hadn't don't this or that interrupting our project.  She then would move us to a different room, just to do the same thing 20 minutes later.

Do you know how hard it is to get 20 kids to quietly do the same project? Just to have it broken up by the DIRECTOR of the school?

She would also tell me that it was my responsibility to take the after school care kids and do the art music and dance program 10 children at a time, and then would YELL at me (in front of the kids) when there was no other teacher to watch the rest of the kids.  She would tell me that it wasn't my responsibility, but how could I leave 18 kids varying in ages from 3 - 12 ALONE on the playground?

I was not given the proper resources to teach my class.  I wasn't even given a space to teach.  They put my class outside on the playground.  Not even a spare space to play music.  I brought my own CD player, but was told that I wasn't allowed to use it.  I tried teaching music by using instruments, and was told that I "wasn't doing anything." I wrote lesson plans every week, and Amparo would lose them. I was required to go to the doctor to make sure I was in fit condition to work with children, and she lost my doctor's note, then I was given a write-up becasue I couldn't provide documentation for working in the US or doctor's visit.  I was born in the US and I DID provide these things.

The facility old, dirty and needs new toys or teaching material.  No one answers the phones, she yell at teachers in front of students, I have seen her not release a child to their own mother becasue the mother didn't have a photo ID, same thing with other family members.

There is no security in the playground.  Tells children they are not allowed to run or climb in the playground.  Very old toys that are dangerous to children.  Playground toys are rusted and broken.  Watched TEACHERS over the camera, pays very little, scams employees.

This school is very under staffed, and it's a complete mess when the director, Amparo is there.

The director, Amparo, yells and is very rude to everyone.

I hated working there and I was happy when they laid me off.

I would not send my children here, nor would I recommend it to any one.  It's chaos, to say the least.

I worked here in 2006 under the old owner, I left to further my career in child care.

In 2009 the center was bought out. My nephew started going to this center, because he was an infant, and I knew the babyroom teacher. Well after going in there a few times to pick up my nephew when his mother couldnt. The owner, Amparo, held multiple conversations with me. After seeing how experienced I was, she offered me a job at her center as a director. I accepted the job even though it was for a lower pay then what I was making from my job at the time, because it was about the experience, not pay. After hiring me, she told me I would teach her VPK program, until she finds someone to teach the program. Immediately after I started working there, she went on a 2 week vacation, and left me in charge. During this time, there were no issues, teachers were happy, enrollment went up, things were great. Amparo was happy that she could go on vacation, now that she has someone with their Directors Credential working at the facaility, which was me.

After returning, she took the  keys back, and was a different person then the one who hired me.

During my 9 months there, she hired 3 different people to work in the office as director, they all quit, because just like she did to me, she lied about the position. During my 9 months, I worked in the VPK room, and with the After Schoolers.

She became really rude. Any concerns or issues I mentioned to her, she ignored. Example: The circle time carpets in the room. I told her, we need to take them to the laundry mat and wash them in the jumbo washer, she refused, and told me to take it outside put it over the fence and hose it down. I asked her, how is that cleaning it? Got no answer.

The office is a clutter and unorganized, she's constantly losing papers and etc. Shes a hoarder, she collects everything. She has magazines from 2001.

She paid someone to design a new lesson plan form for the VPK room, and I tried talking to her about it. Telling her VPK must offer different teaching methods (small group, large group, and one on one). She didnt listen, the new lesson plan is horrible.

The school is really nice, their investing alot of money into it, but they lack just as much. They lack new clean toys. They lack supplies and materials for the teachers. They lack resources for the teachers. They lack cleaning supplies, They lack organized and clutter free rooms.

She put cameras in, that record, to monitor her teachers? If you cant trust your teachers, how can the parents feel secure that their child is safe?

The center is like a zoo. She is constantly moving teachers from one classroom to another.

She does not know how to talk to parents nor staff. Which is why, they lost so many children after she bought the school.

School has no uniforms nor name tags, so you cant properly identify the teachers.

I could literally keep going...
