If I could give zero stars to this establishment, I would. My son went to ABC a few years back when he was 3 and 4, and he still remembers his experience in vivid detail because of how traumatizing it was. The daycare teacher did not appreciate the fact that my son did not understand much English and yelled at him often because he did not understand what she was saying. When my son asked to go to the bathroom, he was often denied by the teachers causing him to soil himself which is appalling and could have caused serious bladder damage and psychological issues as well. During the naps the children are practically on the floor on these disgusting hard cots, the teachers do not pay attention, and once while walking around even stepped on my son's head during nap-time with high heels, which could have killed him! The bathroom was in a disgusting basement and while waiting their turns to go kids have to wait on a disgusting bench. There is black mold everywhere. The teacher once told my son she would take his "bathroom privileges" away for a week and literally did not let my son go to the bathroom. They also allow rampant bullying to take place and have always sided with the bullies against my son because they held a grudge against him for not understanding English too well. They force the kids to "share" their food and when my son wisely pointed out that drinking from the same bottle spreads germs, they tried to punished him and tried to force him to give the drink he brought from home to other children. They spilled hot soup on him once, and to publicly humiliate him they lined all the kids up and changed him in front of everybody! The food is expired, the toys are decades old, the activities do not keep the children busy and there are many places (with sharp objects) where it is easy get hurt. The physical and psychological abuse my son faced caused him to run away into the neighboring synagogue multiple times just to escape! He could have been hurt, either from running away or due to the daycare workers' carelessness such as when they stepped on his head! I am not writing this to be vindictive, I am just begging you, if you are a parent on the fence about ABC, you are setting your child up for early years full of abuse and trauma if you send them here, so I urge you to go to any other daycare!
I usually do not leave bad reviews, however this is the case that I would like to share my experience, to prevent other parents from wrong decisions.
My daughter attended this childcare for about a year,
I will not recommend this day care to anyone.
1. When you sign up the contract is for the whole year and if you don't want to continue you are going to loose the deposit, even if you announce them about your termination way in advance.
2. The most important is that it is not clean, literally they don't have vacuum cleaners and teachers have to stay late after the classes to broom the room, not considering the kids who are on extended day still in the room.
3. They take children to their outside small playground and couple of times they forgot to bring back some of the kids. When we saw it we immediately decided to change the school.
4. Also would like to note that during winter months they never take kids outside to play.
5. My child never had a nap. When we changed the daycare she started sleeping more than an hour every day.
6. Most of the teachers do not have degree in early childhood education and they change teachers frequently. No one stays there for a long time and I believe they are underpaid.If the teacher is absent, about 18 children stay with one teacher, they don't have someone for replacement.
The only reason I give two stars is the teacher. The child loved her.
Overall this place and the management is very unorganized.
