PARENTS AND EMPLOYEES BEWARE! If I could give 0 stars, I would. As a former employee of this establishment I advise anyone in denton not to work or bring your children here. I worked here for about a month and I can go into detail about everything wrong with this establishment. First up we have the employees. Wellspring is not very strict with who they hire being that they’re in such a need for employees. Now to a potential employee that might not sound so bad, but as a parent that’s red flag number one. I worked in the infant room where the sole teacher responsible for the children (who shall not be named because she no longer works there) was openly racist towards the infants. She made various comments daily about certain babies’ races and how one baby was lighter or darker than the other . My favorite comments from her are as follows: “do you see how big his head is I dont even know how his mom pushed him out.” She said that in reference to an infant whose mom worked down the hall. My second most favorite is “he’s just the whitest baby ever.” She said that in reference to the son of the executive director Cheyenne Blair , but we’ll get to her soon. My third and absolute most favorite line is when she said “his mom is such a b****” in reference to an infant who’s mom is meticulous about her child (rightfully so.) Wellspring also hires their employees without proper first aid and cpr training which is why a toddler (who shall not be named) CHOKED on a hot dog and they called the ambulance. They made cpr training mandatory that next week. Oh and if you thought that incident or any other similar incident deserves an incident report…WELLSPRING DOESNT THINK SO. They do NOT write incident reports. Did I mention working 12 hours NO BREAK, there’s no schedule, they’ll stick you in a room on your first day unsupervised and have you running around like a chicken with your head cut off. Oh did I also mention the cameras in the rooms with the children do NOT work. I repeat THE CAMERAS DO NOT WORK SO WHATEVER THEY SAID HAPPENED TO YOUR CHILD IS A GUESS OR A LIE. I also forgot to mention they’re employees are HIGHLY UNDERPAID and you will NOT receive ANY SIGNING BONUS FALSELY ADVERTISED on indeed. Next we have the unsanitary practices of wellspring . Despite the fact we are in the midst of a DEADLY VIRUS wellspring DOES NOT disinfect or sanitize properly or at all for that matter. I worked in the infant room (the stage of life where children are the sickest because their immune system is not yet fully developed. ) Dining areas, toys , high chairs, bouncers , jumpers etc should ALL get washed, sanitized , and disinfected properly, but if you leave it up to wellspring it wont be done. My personal favorite is the bed sheets that the babies sleep on still being stained from spit up and drool and we are made to reuse those same sheets , stains or not. Not only that but the head director Judene Hanson and Cheyenne Blair do NOT ensure proper sanitary procedures. Next on our list we have the infamous Wellspring sickness policy. There might as well not even be a policy because Wellspring doesn’t follow one. Wellspring’s sickness policy states any child with vomiting or diarrhea must stay home for 24 hrs until symptom free or cleared with a doctor’s note. Out of a classroom with 10 INFANTS. I would say about 8 of them had some sort of vomiting or diarrhea in the same 2 week time span. Cheyenne allowed these children to come into daycare and infect not only other babies (including her son) but the staff as well (I found myself in the Emergency Room 3 times in the same week due to poor sanitation procedures of wellspring and neglecting sick policy. My personal favorite of this whole escapade was what I like to call my last straw ….. LICE. YES LICE. Not the little critters .. THE BIG HEAD LICE . So on my last day of working for this establishment, an infant was brought in by a runner and she said clear as day “(*insert child’s name here) has lice and his sister was made to stay home because she had it as well as 3-4 other children. Now common sense might kick in and you might be wondering “shouldn’t a child stay home if their sibling has lice.” Well yes, naturally the staff thought the same. So, I took it upon myself to ask Cheyenne why children were allowed to come in sick not only that but with lice. After a not so thorough examination of the child that had not only lice but a skin condition that affected his scalp, she brought the child back into the room and explained she’s not able to exclude the child from daycare. I then asked what happened if we caught lice . She said in such nonchalant tone “oh you just comb it out. Cheyenne Blair and Judene hanson risk the health of all their CHILDREN AND STAFF just so they can stay in business. I do not recommend working here or taking your children here. Next we have Judene Hanson: she may seem nice because she’s a soft-voiced older woman, but do not be fooled. She’s the most condescending person you’ll ever meet & she just talks to you like your plain stupid and I’ve only had 3 interactions with her. She also has a funny way of bending the truth to fit her own narrative so watch out for that as well. Last but most CERTAINLY not least we have Ms. Cheyenne Blair: my personal favorite. Where do I start: so firstly let’s just start with my hiring process. After I finally set up an interview with cheyenne, she scheduled a meeting with me at wellspring and did not show up. I got told from a staff member who had nothing to do with the meeting that cheyenne wasn’t there. Fast forward to my first day, I automatically realized Cheyenne is unprofessional and unorganized. Cheyenne is and always will be LATE. Cheyenne had an unprofessional relationship with the aforementioned racist staff member ; giving her 2 hr breaks (when I got none) , taking her to work, allowing her to get overtime (against judene’s wishes, etc. Not only that but when I went to judene to confide in her about the unprofessionalism of one of her employees, Cheyenne was right there defending her every word, lying , and invalidating my feelings and experiences. Not only that , but when I was sick or not at work Cheyenne would harass me with phone calls and voicemails multiple times a day on a weekend or when I was sick . Mind you (my sickness was due to the infants passing me their sickness and also certain employees not disinfecting. So one of the days when I was sick Cheyenne called me and left a voicemail blaming me for the babies and other staff being sick when it was in fact.. the other way around. She told me whatever I had was contagious but on my dr’s note it said my sickness was noninfective (aka non contagious.) There’s so much more I could say but I’ve already said enough. DO NOT GO HERE.
