Description: Grammies Daycare and Learning Center is a family owned and operated business. The center is governed by a chain of command that consists of the Owner, Center Director, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Lead Teachers, and Teacher’s Aid. The Center also employs a Driver for after-schoolers (only at Upper Valley) and a full-time cook. Grammies Daycare and Learning Center takes pride in the training of our teachers. GDLC feels that all staff are in full understanding of the concepts and intricacy of the “Learning About My World†Curriculum Program. In addition, GDLC oversees all weekly curriculum plans for each classroom. Moreover, we promote the further training and advance education of our teachers that goes above and beyond Texas Child Care License Minimum Standards.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. Grammies provided daycare for both of my children, ages 8 and 5, I have no complaints only praises. My kids would dread the mornings with other daycares because they knew they eventually ended up at the daycare. With Grammies, my kids actually look forward to their day. This makes my life so much easier and the staff is always friendly and attentive. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!
Super fustrated with this daycare! The administration at this "Family owned" daycare is just something else. You feel such negative vibes just talking too them and hearing them tell you all these things on how they run the place. First of all, they promise online camera's too see the children, and magically they NEVER ARE WORKING!!!!
And then they try and switch around things and tell you that your baby is fine she is happy bla bla bla. Yet why am i paying for a service that's not working? Another thing is, the prices at this place go up EVERY year? Wow! As if they don't over charge enough as it is.
Now my biggest issue here was the number of kids per classroom!!!! They put in kids in left and right because they see money signs, yet they don't see that is not a healthy environment for the kids.
All the administrators at these 2 locations are horrible, but i will put my foot down and say that if i left this daycare aside of all the things i saw and didn't like was because of "mr toby"
The rudest one of them all, and just over all the one that just shows that our kids are money signs too him!!!! What a disgrace!!! I hated seekng how he acted like he knew my kids and asked them for hugs, and me asking my kids about him and not even knowing who he was!!!! This daycare says to be "the best" but there is nothing that shows that! I hated my experience with this daycare, DO NOT recommend it nor do i plan on returning! Its ridiculous!!!
The current administration (Nick and Divina) at the artcraft location is terrible. Child to teacher ratio is way to high and there teachers don't last there to long before quitting or being fired. There rates go up EVERY year and this daycare is by far the most expensive after calling five other ones. There qualities have drastically gone down and in my opinion are substandard. This place at one point was truly invested for the good of the kids and NOW it's more about the money. This typically occurs when it's family owned and the entire family is employed there. The staff there are unhappy and my understanding is many parents are leaving or have left. I'm currently looking for a new daycare and will be leaving very soon.
Before i took my child to Grammies daycare, i would hear from some parents that this was the best daycare. Yes i can partially agree with that. This day care is what is known to be good because of its staff (the teachers) who i saw so many times going the extra mile for the ungrateful admin. The administration at this place is horrible, they paint you a very nice picture to get you enrolled. I remember them telling me they only had a certain amount of kids enrolled in the classroom, yet my childs first day there was more kids than they had said. I honestly believe they over work the number of kids that they enroll not caring about anything else. Its no wonder they are always out of ratio. It made me really sad to ask the teacher why there was so many kids, and being told that they just enroll and move kids around. Her honesty was what i appreciated. I talked to admin about the issue and they just overlooked it and changed the subject.
My other child was in they're summer camp field trips and the vans had no Ac!!!!! They charge a whole lot for the awesome summer camp activities and they cant afford maintainence in the vans??? Where does all this money go too? I was very disapointed in the place, When you pick up your children, go ahead and ask any of the teachers if they feel appreciated by admin. This will show whats important to these people, its oviously not the kids nor teachers. $$$
