Description: The Preschool at First Christian Church is an early education program offered for children age 6 weeks thru 5 yrs old, with After-School Care for elementary age children. The program has offered a positive Christian-based Preschool experience for young children since 1997. Recognized for excellence in program content and teaching method, the Preschool strives to maintain the highest quality early childhood learning experience available in the Temple area.

The preschool is very old and could use major reconstruction. The ceiling tiles are water stained, the floors dirty, fish tank is very sad, and the paint on the walls and doors is peeling. The school seems very understaffed and the turn over rate is horrid. My child does attend here but I am actively seeking better care. The teachers are not consistent and do not follow the posted daily schedule. My child rarely if ever comes home with school activities and does not like to stay there. I feel as though I am forcing or punishing my child by sending them here. Please take a close look when considering this preschool. Also the director is very misleading when describing the preschool and very hard to reach. Her office staff is great but she is very rude. When giving the tour before I selected this preschool she falsely represented the school and told me that my child would be getting certain attention and they did not receive any of this.
Some of the staff is caring and nice. Not surprising to see staff on their phones or doing their makeup. The director seemed a little rude. I never felt like she was very caring to the children she talked about NAEYC constantly not about how the children are cared for. Personally I feel like the rooms were packed too many kids in one room and sometimes only one caregiver in the room.
I am the Director of Children's Ministry and actively oversee the daily operations of FCP. I want to update our information to let parents know we are seeking NAEYC accreditation and currently have the 4 Star Texas Rising Star designation. In addition we have added a "Nature Explore" Outdoor Classroom, have 2 other outdoor play areas and a full size heated/air conditioned Gym. Come visit us!
