My 2 sons attended Ambitious Minds from birth until my youngest was in 2nd grade and the commute to my new job was too much for me to handle. I love Ambitious Minds. Ms.Marion (director) is awesome! She is very understanding and often works with parents with all different situations. I have over heard parents tell Ms.Marion she is God sent because some parents would not be able to make it otherwise. My personal experience was always good. There was one time I had to go to Ms.Marion about a staff member who did not acknowledge my child when he walked in and after I expressed it to her that changed. My sons were very prepared for Kindergarten because they worked with them and so did I at HOME. Her daughter Mrs.Kia is awesome as well! I consider them family because they treat me and my kids that way. I believe there is no perfect job, church, school, store, daycare, parent etc but I do believe that Ambitious Minds Strives to be close. If I ever have any more kids (doubt it lol) they will be at A.Minds
My child attended Ambitious Minds and I regret it.
1.There is no formal curriculum. The majority of the time the kids are playing or watching movies. My son was NOT prepared when he entered Kindergarten.
2.The staff turn over rate is extremely high.I began to notice that the teachers kept changing. No employee stays there very long which made me uneasy with all of the new strangers in contact with my child. The teachers are uneducated in early childhood development and often have very negative demeanors. This is clearly “just a job” for them.
3.The facility is not very nice or modern. The inside is a residential home remodeled for a daycare. The place is a fixer upper and needs lots of work.
4.The director Ms. Marion can be rude, unprofessional, and condescending in how she relates to parents.
5.I had no information on what my child was eating every day but he was often constipated. One employee told me she felt bad working there because the food was not nutritious and often the children were given very small portions or not enough to eat.
6.One parent told me that when she went to pick up her child one day, the OWNER/DIRECTOR WAS OUTSIDE IN HER CAR ON HER CELL PHONE WHILE SEVERAL CHILDREN WERE LEFT INSIDE UNSUPERVISED!This parent has since filed a formal complaint with the TX Dept. of Family and Protective Services Child Care Licensing Office.
Do not take your child here! The price may be lower than other daycare’s in the area, but keep in mind the fact that you get what you pay for! This place needs some BIG improvements.Take your child elsewhere!Your baby deserves better!I wholeheartedly regret sending my child to this daycare.
