My children have attended this facility from infancy. My daughter is now in the first grade and still requests to visit during vacations and scheduled days off from school. My son is currently in the pre-school program 5 days a week. I have been consistantly impressed with the level of care and education at Kids Count. There is very little turnover here. 5 out of 7 of the regular teachers have been at the facility since we started almost 7 years ago, the other 2 have children that attend the daycare and have been there for 5 years.
The infant room is full of love and attention for each child, it is always clean. The toddler room is a little overwhelming - KUDOS to the teachers that keep up with the energy of these little people! There are arts and crafts everyday, as well as a calander time with early learning including letter and number recognition, as well as colors and shapes, and lots of singing and creative play time. The pre-school kids are very active and slowly get adjusted to more structured learning time throughout the program. I have always been impressed with the progression of knowledge from both my children at this level, self help skills become very apparent.
My daughter graduated the pre-kindergarten program almost 3 years ago now. What a special time. It's focused on preparing the kids with the skills they need to move to the elementary school. In our area the kindergarten is a full day which I thought would be a huge transition for my little one but with the structured program from Kids Count, she adapted very well and was more than prepared to start school.
Kids Count is very clean, structured, consistant and reliable. Their hours are convenient for most working parents 7am - 6pm, and in the 6 years of our experience they have closed three times for incliment weather and once for a plumbing issue. When comparing daycare/learning centers the only drawbacks would be the lack of foreign language introduction and Kids Count does not provide meals, only healthy snacks for the kids.
