Owner response : I am the new Director at this program and regret that this is your perception of your experience at St. Paul's. We have a long history of providing excellent care in our community, and we pride ourselves on working with every child and their stage of development individually. I do believe that we work well with children with atypical behavior, and from time to time if a situation in a classroom is overwhelming for a child, we will work with them individually in order to determine the best course of action. This is not isolation, but a calming-down technique and an opportunity to better assess the situation. We also must consider the safety and experience of every child and staff member. When a situation with a child extends beyond our scope of knowledge or we feel like additional resources are warranted, then we suggest such, in the best interest of the child. We also do report incidents to families because we want to keep 100% open communication as to a child's behavior. We ask that parents walk their children in to their classes in the morning because it gives staff members the opportunity to engage with children's parents and guardians in a personal way.
