Description:
The ability to care for America's children is a rare and precious gift from God. It is an awesome responsibility. What a sacred contract a family must enter into in order to trust another with their most precious possession, a child. Parents have no choice but to trust, to relinquish control, and depend on us. The only way to make this a better world is to raise better people. We need to invest everything we have in these little ones; they truly do hold our tomorrow. "It is the hand that rocks the cradle that rules the world" I believe each person was put on earth with a God given purpose and endowed with the talents needed to fulfill it. I believe I was chosen to enrich the lives of our children. A mission I have dedicated the past forty years of my life to. Our House began in 1985 as an in-home childcare center in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Because of the growing demand for our services we soon opened Our House Creative Childcare, May 1990, licensed for 99 children. In August of 1998, Our House at the Pinnacle was incorporated and opened its doors to 199 children.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.

If you're of African descent [i.e. African-American, African, South American, Caribbean, etc] don't bother sending your kid to Our House on Pinnacle. ALL their African/African-American staff who our kid was able to relate to and kind to him were dismissed amidst trumped up allegations of non-performance and/or tardiness, by other staff.
Some of the teachers blacklisted my 3-year old and made it look like they were dealing with a teanager having a tantrum. They claimed just yesterday that 5 teachers had to restrain him when he threw a fit but both my wife and I have never had a problem with getting him to obey instructions [save for one instance where he refused to apologize to the drop-off lady....and I have come to understand why after all that's gone on].
Some of the teachers have good things to say about him but two/three others consistently took him to the office to complain about one thing or the other.
They called me in from work yesterday and last Friday [after I agreed with them they should do so immediately they start having issues with him], and my wife last week, and on both occasions he was already calm and playing or it didn't take long for me to explain to him why he needed to say sorry, and he did.
They made him out to be some sort of monster shortly after we sent him there a little over a year ago and passed stories about him through the school so the bad teachers could use that as an excuse for their incompetence whiles the good ones saw no wrong and kept on praising him for how happy a kid he is.
The director seemed to think I had no knowledge of what my parenting responsibilities are, where parental involvement in disciplining kids at the day care is concerned, and proceeded to lecture me when one of their teachers lied about me abandoning him at drop-off, whiles he was throwing a tantrum.
Once I explained to her that I was already at the office when I received the call and was heading into a meeting and so asked to come in later she had egg all over her face but still wouldn't apologize. The interesting thing is the drop-off lady kept insisting to my face [when we had a meeting later] she didn't hear me say I couldn't come back right at that moment, given that I had been in the office for just about 20 minutes and was heading into a meeting so could only come back to the day care later. She apparently retracted her story that I was right at the door when she called me back in and I refused to. She lost credibility with me the minute I heard she said that. That was a blatant lie but she wouldn't admit it when I confronted her nor apologize.
The other interesting thing is they have no video-monitoring, like at some of the other child care centers in the Lexington, KY area, and so can say anything about your kid and back each other up with no proof.
They even terminated our contract without giving us the usual 2-week notice to find another facility for our kids to transition to, even though standard daycare contracts state this, and they didn't even give me a termination letter to reflect their rather abrupt decision.
