- Provide Braille instruction (grade 1, 2 and Nemeth code) as needed
- Familiarize students and staff with specialized computer software/hardware and applications (assistive technology for the blind)
- Adapted learning materials and environment for the blind and visually impaired and instruct other educational personnel regarding student needs
- Register students with appropriate agencies for the Blind
- Advocate for students’ needs in school districts and residential environments
- Prepare and maintain required documentation for each student and district
- Assess students and determine educational needs
- Provide orientation and mobility instruction as needed
