Hi Community:
I urge to stop taking your children to this center and please look for alternate preschools for your children. The lack of accountability and resources for staff and children is unbearable. My child attended the Eden YMCA center since he was 2 months old, and recently (new administration) my child was expelled from the program, and have yet to receive proper documentation. They left us with no answer for weeks. After a few meetings, they continued to give up false hope and misinformation. The staff included in these meetings were administrators and inclusion managers from the regional office in Berkeley. I am filing a complaint against them for discriminatory actions and unethical practices. Additionally, all their staff are unprofessional and use harmful language and practices. We had teachers tell us “your child is acting this way because he’s Mexican or Hispanic.” We have also been told that our child is violent and dangerous, but yet, we had another parent trying to physically assault my fiancé and they did nothing. The child and parent continued with their care. Despite us feeling unsafe and afraid. This all happened in presence of school staff, Director, and other families. Yet, my 4 year old is a threat! This is disgusting and sickening.
Again, I urge all my community of Hayward to stop taking your children to this center, and please do not enroll your child/children. The unethical, discriminatory, and unprofessionalism is concerning and harmful to our children and community. We need to stop funding the YMCA, and hold them accountable. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. They perpetuate harm and educators are not qualified to do their jobs. We need to fund organizations that are equipped with the right tools to serve our community and children.
