I have used this provider for more than 6 months

My child has attended this daycare from 6 weeks old. They have many benefits that place them above the rest; to include providing infant formula, all meals/snacks (including jar food/infant cereal) and diaper wipes. They also have a competitive rate for the area. They have transportation too but I am not really sure how that works. I do know that they transport to a wide variety of schools.

A few things that I don't agree with are the many staffing changes, implementation of rule changes and some maintenance processes. With so many staffing changes and improper introductions it is hard to learn who people are. Physical appearance of staff is important too. Children are being taught by what they see and physical appearance is a noticeable impression. The teachers all appear to work well with the children either way. There could be more instruction on the infant level (such as simple identifications) this may go hand in hand with the staffing stability but they have sufficient toys and equipment to keep them entertained. The teachers do singing activities with the infants in addition to free play. In regards to the implementation of rules, there is a certain way to make changes. Sudden changes without prior warning isn't the way to go. I also feel that all maintenance and non-routine cleaning (i.e. carpet cleaning and class room sanitation) should be professionally handled after hours. I have brought most of my concerns to their attention and they have listened, responded and hopefully from here on out they will consider the parents point of view with all future decisions; ultimately we are their customers.

I have also visited the DSS childcare website and they have violations along with 99% of other licensed daycare centers. The violations are usually paperwork related. The one concerning the child observed sleeping in another room was explained to me shortly after it occurred. That particular classroom is a divided room and there aren’t anything but cribs in the divided part of the room. There is a half-door between that space and the play area. The upper area of the crib space is glass panels and visible to anyone walking into the classroom. There is also visibility from someone standing in the nearby section of the play area.

They could improve on staff identifications by name, communications and maintenance schedule. I rate them at a 4 because they exceed the level of the average daycare but they have some kinks to work out too.

I have used this provider for more than 6 months

My experience with Genesis Learning Center- Bensley Commons location was horrible please do not send your child there. They are very unprofessional and have alot of issues. My daughter was there for a year and there was a change of 6 different teachers in her classroom. Because of soo many changes there was never structure. The teachers complained about how they were treated multiple times and often quit with out even giving a notice. They hire teachers who are inexperienced and afraid to interact with the parents. Often the teachers would sneek to give me information about how the company is ran behind the scenes. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not send your child here. There is a reason why they have so many discounts! Also please visit the dss.gov website and search daycare centers. Each time there has been an inspection there have been multiple violations found including a baby sleeping in a room by themselves and an employee who did not have TB test results in their files.
