Description: The Shepherd's School is a Bible based, inclusive, developmental school for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. It educates children of varying developmental levels including gifted children, typically developing children, and children with special needs. The school's program includes the components for the spiritual, intellectual, creative, social-emotional, and physical development of the children. The Shepherd's School does not discriminate against race, creed, color, religion, or developmental level.
The Shepherd's School offers an inclusion program which integrates children of all developmental levels within a classroom setting. In this paradigm, children with special needs participate fully in an enriched curriculum alongside of gifted and typically developing children. The individual needs of every child will be met within a Christian setting. The staff of the Shepherd's School work together with outside professionals to create, modify, and implement activities for all developmental levels within each classroom. All children benefits from this progressive program.

My son attended The Shepherd's School from age 2 to age 5. The facility is much like a home-daycare setting in that it is small and homey-feeling. The director, Elizabeth, is educated in theology and counseling and knows each child and parent individually. She is interested in all aspects of each child's care, and has been an invaluable parent resource for everything from picky eating to potty training. She is knowledgable in every facet of early childhood development and has given me dozens of useful tips for managing and responding to my toddler-through-preschooler's behaviors in ways that get the result I want. The Shepherd's School staff strives to give each child the physical, cognitive, and emotional growth opportunities he needs to realize his potential, and will work individually with each child when necessary. Children learn preschool basics at The Shepherd's School, and are academically well-prepared for kindergarten when they leave. More importantly, a child who attends TSS learns how to be a good person, how to make good choices, and how to act with respect and kindness towards other children and adults. So, don't be put off by the appearance of the facility, the frayed books, or the lack of a fancy playground. This is a great place for babies and young children, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.
