Description: “Saint Philip Child Development Center…Who We Are”
Founded in 1980 as part of Saint Philip A.M.E. Church’s Outreach Ministry, the Saint Philip Child Development Center opened its doors to the east Atlanta community and continues to be a mainstay to the people in the area today.
The philosophy of the center is to develop a child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative skills in a Christian, nurturing environment. To accomplish this, the CDC provides stimulating, age-appropriate learning environments, meets stringent health and safety standards and implements educationally appropriate activities and programs that fosters learning.
Serving preschool children from ages 1-year through 5-years and school-age children ages 6 through 12, Saint Philip CDC utilizes the High Reach Learning curriculum which promotes the basic learning skills of reading readiness, math concepts, health, science, music and art. As our world continues to evolve into a more technological and diverse society, Spanish lessons as well as Introduction to Computers are included in our curriculum. Other extracurricular enrichment activities offered include Dance/Ballet, Music Lab and Gymnastics.
Staff personnel attend workshops and seminars designed to keep them abreast of current strategies and concepts relative to child development and are encouraged to further their professional growth in the field.
In March of 2007, Saint Philip CDC received state accreditation and is recognized as a Center of Distinction that provides the highest quality care for children.
As an advocate of the family unit and Christian center for the care and nurturing of children, Saint Philip Child Development Center is dedicated to working together with parents to develop the whole child by teaching, with God’s guidance, the appropriate skills for children to succeed in life. That is our mission and purpose for existence.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues.
