Stepping Stones Family Childcare's philosophy Statement:

We at Stepping Stones Family Childcare believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. As an educator my desire is to help children meet their fullest potential in all areas by providing a safe environment that supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas. 

We at Stepping Stones provide an environment where discipline occurs naturally through problem solving, limit setting, and redirection.Children are respected as individuals within a child-oriented rather than teacher-directed program.At Stepping Stones Family Childcare(Easton-MA), children are given full opportunity to explore materials and participate in a variety of experiences. Activities are carefully planned and implemented in an open-classroom setting. Children are given freedom to choose from age-appropriate activities including art, music, language development, math skills, science and nature, and dramatic play. We at Stepping Stones believe that Children can only develop their self-esteem, independence and problem-solving skills once they make choices and we as educators,assist them in planning the environment and the activities.







Children constantly need time and freedom to experiment, explore, move, laugh, think, and be creative. Our high quality program undoubtedly offers opportunities and experiences to children, nurtures growth and learning, and supports ideas through communication. We respect each child’s individualized pattern and timing of growth, as well as individual personality, learning style, interests and culture as that is central to the fabric of daily interactions and the direction the curriculum follows. 

Our primary goal is for children to feel safe and secure. Prior to being independent a child must know that he or she can depend on adults and a predictable environment. Children are treated here with utmost respect and kindness. We give lot of importance to small ratio. Small group size and appropriate teacher-child ratios allow for meeting the individual needs of each child.
