I would like to take a minute and let you know about our experience with kids discovery 7 in Val-p. This is the 3rd daycare we have had our kids at because they had such bad experiences at the first two. My kids are ages 6 and 3 and have been going there for almost 3 years. My 6 year old is 150% boy and can be a lot to handle sometimes, and our 3 yo girl is trying everything she can to be just like her brother. Ms Lisa and Ms Stephanie have been so patient and understanding when it comes to dealing with my kids. They are always wiilling to work with us and help us keep them on the right track. My kids love all their teachers and talk about them at home. When we are taking them in or picking them up even their past teachers will make it a point to come say hi to them and make sure they are still doing well. Also, being how my wife and I are both first responders, we have unusal schedules and they have always been willing to work with us! I always do, and will continue to reccomend this place to everybody. --- Kevin and Samantha Houston
My son loves his classroom and has learned so much at this daycare. He hated the other daycare chain in Valparaiso and did not want to be left there but has been happy since we got a slot at Kids Discovery. His lead teacher has degrees in child development and seems to understand what the kids need. In the 2-year old classroom my son's speech and language development has progressed a lot, as well as potty-training and other skills like clean-up, sharing, and even eating with utensils, that have been hard for me to convince him to do at home. Really happy with the care here.
Do not trust this daycare with your child! I could hear my daughter screaming from the time I approached the door and I walked in to the assistant director restraining my child. When asked why was my child being restrained she stated that my daughter touched something on her desk. I have contacted dfcs in regards to the situation. My daughter has also told me that the teacher has scratched her. The teacher turnover rate at this daycare is insane. Please do not place your child in this type of environment.
My son went to this school for 2 years and never liked the school in the beginning and I tried to get him into another one and finally we did. People are there for a paycheck not because they like children. My son is scarred forever and runs away now from other adults because of how he was treated there. He was screamed at, made to sit in time out of hours, given lunch late like an hour and half late ( he is only 4), he was scratched on the neck by a teacher and grabbed forcefully. The front desk blew it off and made up excuses and has never apologized for how my son was treated or affected by their staff. I wonder if the owner knows all of this. I also have pictures of the scratch and it is deep and now turned into a scar. This place seems nice but the kid to adult ratio is horrible, teachers are not trained and scream at children and are to stern and forceful. I do not recommend this place, my child now has to go see a counselor because of how he was treated there.
My child went here for a couple of months. It was awful! I observed an employee yank a 1 year old by the shirt so hard that the child fell backwards and the shirt went over his head, they don't change diapers often enough, don't keep track of what the children eat and drink (they mark something random on the paper, they change diapers in their kitchenettes where they also prepare food/drinks. The last straw was when I went to pick up my child and he was locked in the bathroom with 5 other children and one worker who was screaming aggressively at the children. I do not recommend them! The office worker comes up with lame excuses why the workers yank kids around and scream at them. That is never ok! Don't trust these people with your child!
