Description: Head Start is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive free medical and dental screenings, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe setting.
Head Start helps all children succeed. Services are offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. Most children in Head Start are between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Services are also available to pregnant women, infants, and toddlers.
Head Start services are available in many communities throughout Allegany County. In addition, our Home Based Head Start? program option brings our staff right to your home to teach you how to provide learning experiences for your own children.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.
