Our mission is to provide the highest quality early childhood programs to families in the Gig Harbor, Tacoma and the Greater Key Peninsula area.
These sites include special programs for partnerships with Peninsula and Tacoma School Districts to address the needs of teen parents; early intervention services; inclusive programming for special needs children; family support programs and advisory training from Bates Vocational College. These comprehensive services are evidence of our holistic approach to family support and child care.
Cottesmore has been incorporated since April of 1993 and operates as a non-profit organization in the State of Washington. It is governed by a Board of Directors. Cottesmore operates three sites: Cottesmore Childcare Center, 50th Street Child Development Center, serving 47 children (ages 4 weeks to 6 years) Gig Harbor; Cottesmore Childcare Center, Grand View Child Development Center in Gig Harbor, serving 64 children (ages 4 weeks to 6 years); and, Cottesmore Childcare Center, Oakland Child Development Center at Oakland Alternative High School in Tacoma, serving 24 children (ages 4 weeks to 5 years). All three centers are licensed by the Department of Youth, Children and Families and meet all necessary government program standards, as well as, health, safety, and fire requirements. Each site has a qualified director carefully selected by The Board.

We have taken our son to this facility since April of 2019 and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The teachers there do a fantastic job of socializing the children and are extremely engaged with them all day. They update the app throughout the day, which sends us updates on how he is doing, if he napped, what he had for lunch, etc. Our son’s vocabulary improved substantially after a few months at the school and they also assisted with his potty training. Overall, the experience has been fantastic and we would recommend Cottesmore to anyone moving to the Gig Harbor area.
