I have used this provider for less than 6 months
I am a mother of a 15 week old baby that was carefully selecting a daycare provider for my baby. As any parent can relate, it is a tough decision making process. We chose the home care route with the thought that our son would be more loved and given more attention than a company day care. Well we were wrong. Day 1 with Carol was a "tough day". He cried a lot, and I was upset for him, but figured it was due to the different environment, different people, and other small children around my baby. I was told the same thing from Carol, as she assured me to relax, and " that my son just needed to get used to them." I agreed. (she and her retired husband that sits in the area the children are in all day). Day 2, I get a phone call while at my second day back to work after only having dropped off my son for 3 hours, with Carol saying "I don't think this is going to work out. Your son is too needy, he cries too much, and I can't hold him all day." Well I was stunned by this call, from the previous day's conversation reassuring me, the fact that my son does not cry all day and we do not hold him all day, and from a woman with 30 years experience that said watching my son would be no problem with her other children on her plate. My husband immediately went to pick him up, and was told by both Carol and her husband that "we sure have a spoiled baby. He's got a set of lungs on him.". How do you spoil a 15 week old baby? By picking him up every now and again and showing him some attention? By not sticking him in a swing or an activity saucer where his feet can't touch the ground all day? I can't believe on the second day I was told this after carefully selecting this woman. I feel like her husband may have prompted her to do this, as maybe my son's occasional "bored cry" if ignored may have been interrupting his tv watching all day. Carol said she couldn't give my son all of the attention. well the other children my husband saw when he picked our son up seemed to be just fine without her attention, playing on tablets on the couch. To tell a parent carefully selecting the right place for their child that they can watch your kid with no problem while watching other kids, with 30 years experience, and then give up on day 2, calling a 15 week old spoiled? Something ain't right, and I feel sorry for the children that she has watched and currently watches. They probably were paid no attention as she collected a paycheck. At least she had the decency to let me know, instead of letting my boy cry every day without telling me. Time to retire yourself lady.
