Description: Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive child development program for children ages 3 to 5 from families who meet federal income guidelines. Head Start teaches children to have positive attitudes about themselves and learning. Head Start involves parents, guardians, volunteers, and utilizes community resources in its plans and activities. Head Start is required to have a 10% enrollment of children with disabilities. Statistics show that more than 20% of children enrolled in Missouri Head Start Programs are classified as children with disabilities.
