Description: In 1961 a group of parents in the Albany community identified a need for an educational childcare facility, hence Albany Community Preschool a non-profit organisation was established. The Centre is managed by a competent staff/parent Committee led by a parent–elected Executive Committee. The Executive Committee comprises a Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Centre Manager and Head Teacher. The Centre Manager is Beverley Furness and the Head Teacher is Lynne Umar. We hold an All Day Licence issued by the Ministry of Education. This caters for 40 children per session, aged 2-5 years, giving parents the option of either full days, sessional enrolments, or a combination of both. Full days are available Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 4:00pm, with a choice of morning and afternoon sessions within these hours.
